Might or might not impact NCAA tourney seeding but I think sweeping the Big Ten titles and Beating Staee three times is better than a 1-seed anyway

I actually agree with the OP.  I want to win more for beating State 3 times than for a 1 seed.  

if someone asked me what I would rather have - a loss today and a 1 seed or a win today and a 2 seed, I'd take the latter all week and twice on Sundays.

It was very clever of them to bump the post from 2009 (last outright title for them) and hope that everyone would ignore the date on the post, unless that's not how they did this, of course. If you need the conference tournament to make it seem as if you won the conference, then professional help to cope with this problem might be the next step.

Losing definitely wouldn't erase this great season, outright B1G title, or the awards that coach B and Nik won which were all but gift wrapped to Izzo and Harris in the preseason, but I want this win so bad. I just want to see Sparty nation burn. I hope the team plays like one possessed today.

I want this one really bad as well. If sparty wins, we have to spend the rest of the week hearing about how they might be the best team in the B1G now and are going to make a super sweet tourney run now that their injury troubles are behind them. I would rather not hear "Watch out for the spartans babyyyyyyyyy" all damn week.

I still remember Izzo sending out Jason Richardson to get an alley oop dunk on us up 50 points.  Just for that reason alone I have a burning need for us to beat them in perpetuity.

Unfortunately I don't think it will happen because I just don't think the team has the ferocious need to beat State as much as they other way around.  If we don't match their energy in the beginning we won't be able to come back and beat them.

Can't get all that excited about this game. The league tournament is just pointless. We won the league. The NCAA tournament begins next week. This really doesn't mean anything, except to State.

Going into the league tournament we were generally projected to be no better than a 2, but based on our two victories we appear to be very close to getting a 1. So "pointless" is overstating things a bit.

That being said, I agree with your basic sentiment; the league tourney pales in importance next to the real thing.
