True, but potential franchise QBs have always been viewed as more worthwile of top picks than any other position. Te'o is still an early first round pick but if he keeps getting exposed badly in this game, his stock is gonna dip, IMO.
January 7th, 2013 at 9:50 PM ^
That 3rd and 3 run alone made for delicious schadenfreude.
January 7th, 2013 at 9:51 PM ^
Bad game or just overrated?
January 7th, 2013 at 9:52 PM ^
He's fantastic, but they played a soft schedule and are getting a wake-up call like UM did in week 1
January 7th, 2013 at 9:53 PM ^
Bit of both. He isn't top 5 draft pick worthy like the ND hype machine tried to make him, but he is still very very good.
January 7th, 2013 at 9:53 PM ^
I am inclined to say that this is simply a bad game.
January 7th, 2013 at 10:04 PM ^
are automatically hyped. they become heisman contenders when they sign, just like the team becomes a national championship contender three weeks into the season.
that's why it's so enjoyabe to see them manhandled like this.
January 7th, 2013 at 9:51 PM ^
Yeah, Yeldon is good. Me want.
January 7th, 2013 at 9:52 PM ^
That did not look good. I hate ND, but I do not wish injuries to their players.
January 7th, 2013 at 9:53 PM ^
Only Saban and his conservative nature will keep the game this close.
January 7th, 2013 at 9:55 PM ^
Oops
January 7th, 2013 at 9:53 PM ^
So I guess the Irish can scrap the whole busting out their Kelly green jerseys for the 2nd half psyche-out ploy.
January 7th, 2013 at 9:55 PM ^
Is McCarron more hurt than they're letting on? It's a little odd they're running on every play here.
EDIT: Nah.
January 7th, 2013 at 9:54 PM ^
I do think the Lions should draft Te'o unless they can make a smart trade for more picks ... wait, who am I kidding. Just take Te'o. Stafford, Johnson, Suh, Te'o. The Lions will look like an NCAA video game all star squad and probably still suck.
January 7th, 2013 at 9:55 PM ^
Did that defender even tough Lacy? Whoa
January 7th, 2013 at 9:55 PM ^
Go for two
January 7th, 2013 at 9:55 PM ^
GOD DAMN EDDY LACY. GOD DAMN BAMA.
January 7th, 2013 at 9:55 PM ^
GLO-RIOUS!!!
January 7th, 2013 at 9:55 PM ^
STAMP GRADE A
January 7th, 2013 at 9:55 PM ^
They spinnin'! They spinnin'!
January 7th, 2013 at 9:55 PM ^
Absolutely beautiful.
January 7th, 2013 at 9:55 PM ^
Yes!!! Nail in the coffin.
January 7th, 2013 at 9:55 PM ^
But I think second half will be brutal for Domers. Their D is already gassed, one starter down, and they are gonna have to start to throw all the time.
January 7th, 2013 at 9:55 PM ^
That was a Sick spin move. Wow
January 7th, 2013 at 9:55 PM ^
What a boring way to end the season.
January 7th, 2013 at 9:56 PM ^
Yeldon and Lacy are just tip toeing through the ND defense, which admittedly is a really good run D. They're making the Irish look stupid
January 7th, 2013 at 9:56 PM ^
Go for 2.
January 7th, 2013 at 9:56 PM ^
I'm starting to change my opinion on McCarron. I don't think he is just a "game manager" That was a great throw on 3rd down.
I guess all the talent around him helps.
January 7th, 2013 at 10:02 PM ^
Yeah. AJ is one of the top QBs in college right now - seems very calm in the pocket and delivers a good ball - of course having a dominate running game and about 10 secs in the pocket doesn't hurt.
January 7th, 2013 at 9:56 PM ^
Hopefully Saban doesn't let off the gas. Everyone's watching Nicky, blow them out for recruiting purposes
January 7th, 2013 at 9:57 PM ^
Putting up 50+ on them would be amazing
January 7th, 2013 at 9:56 PM ^
DAMN YOU OREGON!!!
You cheated me out of an actual National Championship game. Instead I have to watch this scrimmage against the JV team.
January 7th, 2013 at 9:58 PM ^
Amen. Oregon vs Bama would be epic and I would live to see the match-up.
January 7th, 2013 at 9:59 PM ^
Sadly, we (and 11 other teams) bear responsibility for this complete fraud of an ND team being here. They were a 9-3-caliber team that got lucky as hell.
January 7th, 2013 at 10:01 PM ^
I don't see how Oregon could stop Bama's offense and I do believe that Saban could come up with something to slow down Oregon's attack. Do remember that Oregon's offense has not performed well versus the last two SEC schools they played. LSU blew them out and Oregon only scored 19 versus Auburn.
January 7th, 2013 at 10:06 PM ^
And a similar game. Blame Stanford. For losing to ND and beating Oregon.
January 7th, 2013 at 9:57 PM ^
Sorry, double post...
January 7th, 2013 at 9:56 PM ^
If this was a prize fight they'd call it off...
Classic Musburger.
January 7th, 2013 at 9:56 PM ^
So, about this Notre Dame defense
January 7th, 2013 at 9:56 PM ^
"If this was a prize fight they'd call it off"
January 7th, 2013 at 9:56 PM ^
this is beautiful!
to hell with notre dame.
January 7th, 2013 at 9:57 PM ^
Again with the girlfriend Brent....
January 7th, 2013 at 9:57 PM ^
Where's the Admiral Ackbar It's a Trap gif?
Girlfriend alert again. Oh she really was Ms. Alabama.
January 7th, 2013 at 9:57 PM ^
It's over Johnny. It's over!
January 7th, 2013 at 9:59 PM ^
Get him a body bag?
January 7th, 2013 at 9:57 PM ^
I'm baffled how Musberger didn't see this coming. ND is a good team, but did he watch either if these teams play this year?
January 7th, 2013 at 9:57 PM ^
How far does nd drop in the final polls? Not far enough IMO.
January 7th, 2013 at 9:59 PM ^
And Domers should drop into 5-7 range
January 7th, 2013 at 10:00 PM ^
Has them at #1 regardless of the outcome.
January 7th, 2013 at 9:57 PM ^
I want to see Kelly's head explode.
