BCS Title Game Open Thread: Part II

600 comments is probably a bit much heading into the half. Scrolling up to the top to refresh is just crazy now, and will be miserable if this gets anywhere near Outback Bowl thread territory.

That's honestly what I think will happen. They'll get to a point where they see winning a title as a foregone conclusion and nothing special. Then one day, someone will beat them. The Crimson Curtain (see what I did there?) will be torn down, the Bama players will look on at the victors, and remember that's what winning is supposed to look like.

What would be the perfect way for a championship game between Alabama and ND to end up?  I would answer having ND get killed BUT have Alabama act like a bunch of toolbags at the end and start fighting each other.

This was probably the one and only time I rooted for the Irish since I have a friend at the game.  However, I can't say I'm disappointed.  In fact, I think I will root for the Irish more often.

Seconded.

If Notre Dame played a team of alien invaders equiped with intergalatic ray guns capable of wiping out the planet and all life on it and if Notre Dame won the game the aliens had to leave earth I'd have to root for the aliens.

Suck that Domers.

can we all agree that the best part of the game was musbergers comments on A.J. McCarron's girlfriend "You see that lovely lady there, she does go to Auburn, but she's also Miss Alabama and that's A.J. McCarron's girlfriend," he said.

"You quarterbacks, you get all the good looking women. What a beautiful woman. Wow."

Jesus Christ.  I knew it was coming, but the fact he can't show some emotion toward some kids that have given them all they have for number of years of their lives pisses me off.  He very well may in the lockerroom...I hope so. The 2014 season can wait a few hours.

I'm so glad Notre Dame got thrashed. They're closer to 'Returning to Glory (R)' but this sure showed they've got a ways to go. Won't have to hear bout too much Notre Dame Koolaid in the season

Also, Alabama seems decidedly unexcited about winning the whole thing

Dropping us from their schedule to load up on ACC powerhouses like Duke and NC State should help. Honestly, in college where hanging banners of some kind is always the goal, how can ND fans ever be satisfied when the only banner they can ever hang in football is a Natl Championship? Their seasons are doomed to end in disappointment forever.
