For those in the mood for some manner of football, ESPN has graciously decided to air the BBVA Compass Bowl. We have a battle of 6-6 teams in Pitt and Old Miss. As we tune in, Sunseri just threw his third interception of the season. Ole Miss ball at the Pitt 21...

Does this game represent the end of college football given the sad, sad teams that we are forced to watch? Why do they put this crap in between the national championshi game and all the other good games we have seen since December 31?
New rule, if you don't have a single ranked team in your bowl game, you must play it before Christmas. One ranked, between Christmas and New Years, with some exceptions for New Years Day. After New Years, only 2 ranked teams should be allowed to play, preferably such that we get good games. Though now with playoffs coming, my rant is null.
some exception would feature this years Rose Bowl.
Arkansas St v. Kent St tomorrow night. So it can get worse.
but I feel like it drags on a bit too long. I wish it was over right around New Years Day.
I wonder why they've never done that...
Rushel Shell did what good RBs do and wore a virtual coat of people while pushing for a first down, then because this is the 2012-13 Panthers, promptly gets taken for a nice drag on the next inside run.
Joe Rudolph also called for a nice sack on 3rd and 11. Pitt is at least experimenting here.
Compass Bowl? Never heard of it.
All season, if I'm watching a Pitt game I've been texting my friend at Pitt whenever a pick is thrown. He now has a form letter style reply to my texts. Tino is that bad.
that he looks better this season than last. His forth quarter Backyard Brawl performance last year was maybe the worst game I've seen out of a starting QB.
Vinopal sighting on that interception, he didn't get it, but he was in the area.
Ole Miss in this gawd awful game and still in it for two players ranked #1 at there positions one being seen as #1 overall recruit. How is that even possible?
It helps when the #1 overall recruit has his brother already playing at Ole Miss.
"My little brother is very, very good. If you give me a full ride I'll make sure he comes here."
Compared to a normal game for Ole Miss, they are being ruthlessly efficient in dissecting Pitt here - only 1/4 of their average per game offensive yardage and they are within a score of their average points per game.
Meanwhile, Freeze challenges the incomplete pass call on the shovel pass, and it is indeed confirmed. It is also an indictment on throwing shovel passes in heavy traffic.
Tino Sunseri finds himself in a familiar position, desperately hugging the ball, laying on the ground. 4th and 10 coming for Pitt.
Actually at the game, and it was a nice win for Ole Miss. Hugh Frieze is a very good coach, and I think this is a team and a program on the upswing.
Heard a great line for all of you guys out there who wonder why various top football recruits have them as one of their potential choices:
A potential football player asked the Ole Miss football coach (their legendary coach Johnny Vaught) about the coeds at Ole Miss, and he replied, "Son, we redshirt Miss America's at Ole Miss!"
Having been to a number of their games this season in Oxford and having been at their bowl game in Birmingham today, I can tell you this is the absolute truth!
treadwell been yelling hotty toddy on his twitter for 2 weeks now, and was at the bowl game today....if that doesn't say it all, I don't know whatr does.
