BBVA Compass Bowl Open Thread

Submitted by Zone Left on

I know everyone is intimitated by the thought of double posting an open thread for such a popular game, which is obviously why there wasn't an open thread before coverage started.

Enjoy this, your third to last game of the season. The BBVA Compass Bowl comes to you LIVE from Birmingham. Pitt has four coaches for the game and you're going to hear about it 100+ times in the next three hours.

Feel the excitement (HT: EDSBS).

The only game with fewer fans than the BBVA Compass Bowl is the commercial for BBVA.

Rooting for SMU here--a victory is worth 3(!) points to me in my bowl pool.

Line - he's from Oxford, MI. His brother Prescott Line is a senior this year and will also attend SMU. Tough kid who made some noise in the preseason, but didn't end up with too many offers. Real good HS player though, go Wildcats

That just happened! First down Pitt. Great job guys.

Edit: Love kicking that field goal on 4th and 3 from about the 20 when you haven't come close to stopping the other team and are down 21 in a nothing to lose, no coaches get retained bowl game.

Pitt had Dan Marino and SMU had the Pony Express (before the death penalty).

We'll probably hear about that eleventy billion times today too.

Go SMU and June Jones!

I have a law school classmate that went to Pitt and was actually pretty good friends with Tino Sunseri.  He said, and I quote "Tino is so incredibly stupid that the OTHER PLAYERS made fun of him for how stupid he is."

I can't imagine the number of times he's had his head re-introduced to the astroturf has helped today, my lord. Somewhere, Wandtstache is laughing and sobbing at the same time.
