A Tom Brady comparison??
BBrown = Fred Jackson?
Same as Tom Brady, 'except with more athleticism'. Yes please.
The Michigan version of Tom Brady, or the New England Patriots version of Tom Brady?
"He has more athleticism than Brady did and against high school competition his pocket presence is pretty similar to what Brady does now."
Patriots Tom Brady!!!!
Same as Tom Brady, except with more Gisele (whatever that means). I'll take it!
He's like Tom Brady, but dates hotter women and dances in South America better
I like where your head's at...per my above nearly identical comment.
I'm glad I never had to chose between playing for Michigan and living in Florida or Southern California. I'm good friends with the sun and miss him when he's gone.
There are what appear to be reasonably complete stats here at MaxPreps - LINK
This year, he is 167 for 245, good for a 68.2% completion percentage and has thrown for 2,753 yards with 33 TDs and 7 INTs. They give his passer rating as 133, although I would think the NCAA calculation would put these numbers close to 200 (a bit of mental math - could be off), so that must be the NFL calculation.
I saw Sam's tweet so that's why I re-reached out to Rosen to get his take. I don't have access to read Sam's article either.
Brown posts a summary of a convo he's had with a recruit. Then gives his opinion on said recruit. Please, tell me how in theeeee hell can someone possibly piss and moan about this and somehow turn it into whatever clusterfuck you just did?
I believe he was saying that the best source to go to was Rosen himself, which is what Brandon did. There is no insult there.
I see now it can be read two ways. Sorry Dahblue. I guess the recent tone of the board got to me.
I read your post with the Webb link as a shot at Brown because Webb had a report on it too. Like "are you just reporting the same thing Webb already did" type of thing. But of course worded in a sarcastic or snarky way because, obviously.
Then I read ontarioblue's reply and that cemented my ignorance. I then read your "source" post as another shot at Brown for not crediting Webb as his source. My head officially hurts.
Brian was very specific on people going after his people. You may soon find Herm.
JUJU smith to OSU ?
NJ and that there are a lot of northern teams, warm weather almost seems like it makes QB's soft. Football is a cold weather sport for a reason and the Northeast (aside from SU) hates domes.
Why is football a cold weather sport exactly? What about where it doesn't get cold?
They actually win "National Titles" there. Whatever that is.
Californian-turned-Michigan QBs have a pretty good record.
Johnnie Dixon not JUJU guess he has that nickname also, but Smith has the buckeyes in top 3
I just have this feeling he'll grow into a player I hate.
Seems like the coach's persistence has paid off. If they can get the kid on campus there is always a chance.
Do we really have any shot with this kid? Wishful thinking probably.
I'd prefer Rosen or Gentry over Sills, although I won't complain about netting any of the three.
Interesting, I wonder what changed his mind...
...but allow me to be a tad uncouth here.
If a kid doesn't want to come to Michigan because of the weather...
...screw him. That simple. It's a primadonna reason that speaks volumes about a player's priorities.
In deciding where they go to school. Quality of education, quality of program, distance from home/family, and quality of life - which, yes, includes the weather - might all play a part? How dare they ...
Why does that make him a primadonna? If you have no connection to Michigan why would you go there over, say, Stanford or UCLA. Better weather, better academics (or equal in UCLA's case), and lately, better football. Noone in their right mind would choose to live in crappy weather with all other things being equal, and thats assuming all other things are equal.
There are other reasons to believe he is a primadonna than just his aversion to cold weather. Lets see if he grows up a bit over the next year.
Care to describe them or list them?
It's also speaks about your character that you're bashing an 17 year old on an internet forum about where he will choose to attend college. Weather and QOL is a big factor in many people's decisions. For a Cali boy, it can be a big culture shock. You might want to rethink you're signature there.
It would be a prima donna reason if that's why he refused to go to an NFL team that drafted him and was going to pay him millions of dollars.
It's not a prima donna reason when he has his choice of schools to attend all around the country.
Personally, I think you're a prima donna for choosing the free Bahamian cruise as opposed to the free Alaskan cruise. Why would you want to go hang out with girls in bikinis and bask in the sunshine when you can bundle up and walk on an iceberg?
(That last scenario is made up, in case you were wondering.)
...or to Stanford because he prefers superior academics does that make him a prima Donna too? Or is an honest preference for warmer weather your only qualification?
You haven't been outside today, have you?
...but they are going to have their hands full with De La Salle (#6 nationally and home to Amani Toomer and Matt Gutierrez) in Saturday's CA Open Division Championship. Would love to get him on campus, and see where it goes from there...even if it is a long shot. Thanks for the update Coach!
Hopefully, if we can get him on campus it will be in the summer or early fall.
The Brady comparison is a laugh. WTF? You throw the Brady comparison up there and then one-up his skill set?
You do know that Brady is only the best quarterback ever! C'mon Man!
I'm saying he has those kinds of qualities. Rosen looks Brady-esque compared to other high school quarterbacks, like how Brady looks against most other NFL QB's.
If you think I meant that Rosen could suit up for the Patriots this weekend and succeed you have sorely misjudged my comparison.
Looking at colleges, I'd seriously look at cold weather schools. After seeing some of the pro games these last few weeks, I'd want cold weather experience.
College football rarely gets into the conditions that we've seen the last two weeks in the NFL.
Just seems to me like he would be USC's to lose. Even getting him to visit would be a surprise to me. West coast kids with pro ambitions should give Michigan serious consideration though. NFL schedules keep you on the move.
High school football is still going in California?! Wow.
Is secret code for there are hotter girls in California.
Huge game for him against Concord De La Salle for the California State Title, high school of Amani Toomer and Matt Guttierez.
We should send Borges to see Rosen on a dual mission. Show Rosen some love and then steal their playbook. Their sets look better than what we ran this year.
I don't necessarily subscribe to the theory of man-made global warming, but we all need to start our cars right now and not turn them off until the temperature of Michigan has heated about 10 degrees on average. That should get Rosen here.
I'm surprised recruits don't complain more about playing in hot, humid climates, especially with all of the gear players wear. And, at the beginning of the season, it looked like quite a few Southern players were feeling faint on the field, but the heat is never mentioned. Weird.
Does he like subs?
If he has apirations of being an NFL QB he had better think about cold weather. It isn't warm in places like Green Bay, Minneapolis, Denver, New York, Boston, etc. NFL QBs that have come from warm weather colleges haven't done consistently well in cold weather.
