BBrown: Dylan Moses Update

Submitted by Brandon Brown on

Dylan Moses rose to fame as the super-recruit who was offered by LSU during the summer BEFORE his 8th grade year. Moses is just about to wrap up his freshman year in high school and already he's committed to the Tigers but holds offers from many of the big boys in college football including Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Ohio State, Texas and many more.

At 6'2" and 220 lbs. with legit sub-4.5 speed, it's no secret as to why such big time programs are interested in Dylan. What is a bit of a secret is how interested Dylan is in Michigan. I was able to talk to Dylan after some exchanged tweets between him and Jabrill Peppers caught the attention of Michigan fans all over social media. Even though he is committed to the home-state Tigers is he legitimately interested in Michigan?

Yes sir, I definitely am interested in Michigan. I've been interested in Michigan for a while, ever since Jabrill committed to them. Like I said in one of my earlier tweets Jabrill is my favorite high school player. When he committed it made me want to look into Michigan but I had no way of getting in contact with them. I've been watching their highlights and going on the website to check out their academics and stuff. I have really high interest in them. I have Coach Manning's number but I haven't been able to get in contact with them yet. I was talking to Jabrill the other day on the phone to see if he could talk to Coach Hoke for me or at least give him a good word about me.

As a 2017! prospect obviously Dylan has a ton of time before he has to decide anything officially, but he has at least flirted with the idea of checking out Michigan a little more formally. I asked him if a flip to Michigan was even a remote possibility and he answered as you'd expect.

I don't know about that right now. I just want to weigh my options first and go visit the campus and see the facilities.

----------------------------------

Let's take all of this with a grain of salt, it's early, he's committed to LSU, and he's from Louisiana. However, in speaking with Dylan what he said about Michigan and his interest level, especially because of Peppers, didn't just sound like lip service. There is a ton of time left in his recruitment and if a relationship was formed on any level between Moses and Coach Nussmeier while he was at Alabama, then this could have some legs to it. Couple that with the friendship between Moses and Peppers, the future of Dylan's recruitment involving Michigan could grow into something interesting.

A recruit for 2017 is definitely putting me into "old" territory in my own mind anyway as he would have been born during my junior year at Michigan, but in any case, the offers are already notable above and beyond the commitment to LSU. According to 247, he also has offers from Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Miami (YTM), Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State and about a half dozen other schools.

Is it too much to ask that the minute Jabrill Peppers steps on campus he minimizes all our fears and woes and instantly makes the team exciting and physical and makes spectacular big plays and gets all the 5-star kids to come to Michigan?  That's not too much to ask of a true freshman is it?

It feels like I just had a kid not that long ago, he'll be in school before this kid is on campus... I don't know whether I'm a really old young college student or a really young pedi file since I'll be stalking his twitter feed for good news...
