DaQuarious Damon Denson grew up not liking his name and vowed to his parents that he would get it changed. Around 7th grade his friends and family started calling him Mon for short and it stuck. Now opposing defenses, college scouts, and coaches definitely know the name Mon Denson.

Denson is a sturdy, solid back with good speed and superb balance. He says coaches have compared him to a legend and he believes he is a complete back.

I think I have good explosiveness, speed, and moves for a big back. I'm a very physical runner and I'm hard to bring down in the open field. My coaches say I run like Eric Dickerson and even compare me to Troy Polamalu on defense.

Denson sports a decent offer list and schools like Michigan, among others are starting to take notice of his skill-set and size.

My recruitment is going pretty good. I'm hearing from a lot of schools but lately Arkansas and Kansas State the most. I also have recently talked with Coach Lilly from Georgia, the team I've been waiting for.

Denson is a Georgia native and wasn't shy about being a Bulldog guy. I also asked him what an offer from the in-state power would mean and if a commitment would follow and he said, "I choose not to say."

After learning about how strong his feelings are for Georgia, I wondered if any other school had a chance with him, specifically Michigan.

Yes sir, Michigan is definitely in the mix, no doubt. I don't know a lot about Michigan right now but I know about Charles Woodson, Jabrill Peppers, Mike Hart, and Denard Robinson. I also have some family on my dad's side up that way but I don't really know them that well.

Denson has been getting more and more attention from the Michigan coaching staff, recently sending his transcripts to the football offices in Ann Arbor with the hopes that an offer will be sent to him in return.

I talked with Coach Singletary and sent him my transcripts. We talked a little bit about an offer. He said that the coaches wouldn't come that far for no reason and that they don't offer people just for fun. He said it in a funny way, but it made the point. He's a funny dude.

Denson didn't have a set plan when it came to his visits, top lists, or decision timeline, but he said he is enjoying the process and plans on just going with the flow.

--------------------------------

Denson is a name that has been getting some buzz on other Michigan recruiting sites and while an offer does seem pretty likely, if he's offered by Georgia I firmly believe he'll be a Bulldog. The fact that he offered up his desire for a Georgia offer before I asked and chose not to say if he'd commit immediately after receiving one speaks volumes.

THE VIBE

0 - Not going to happen
1 - Doesn't look good right now, but we'll see
2 - 50/50, yes or no, wouldn't be surprised
3 - It looks like an offer could come in the future
4 - I fully expect an offer to come
5 - Guarantee this kid is offered

His recruitment is trending in the direction of a Michigan offer, barring an issue with his transcripts. If Michigan does offer, I will update The Vibe for him with the offered prospect scores but to me it's pretty clear that he's beyond a longshot to actually become a Wolverine at this point.

Ignore the naysayers and keep bringing it, I think this time is boring too but thats one good reason for me on why its great to hear any kind of recruiting news.

When Mon Denson commits somewhere and if he shows up on the TV, I'll know more about him now. Thanks Brown, ignore the whiners; it's not your fault they chose to live in the Michigan winter.
