I'm aware of the Lions/Basketball thread, but I wanted this to get it's own thread.
We've won the tip.

Where is Creighton?
It's better to hate to lose, than love to win.
Omaha, NE. The only reason I know that is from them playing in new Rosenblatt Stadium for baseball.
im watching this game from omaha. these people are ape shit for creighton bball

I lived in Nebraska for some years and Nebraska Football is everything... but because their Bball team is so bad (No NCAA since the Tyron Lue days, I believe)... Creighton has found a nice niche.
'Cause I Bleed Blue...
very true. i went to a creighton game in the qwest center a few weeks back. its every bit as big a production as kentucky bball when i used to live in lexington. pretty cool

That was sick backdoor from Novak. So was following that up with a steal and easy lay up.
I give thanks to formerlyanonymous.

is looking more crisp and effective than it ever has. This is exciting stuff

Novak F'in rules.
THe 1-3-1 gives teams serious fits. Belien is a bad man.

I know there's maybe a few hundred people there, but does it seem like a pro Creighton crowd?
Sincerely,

I was thinking the same thing, but it could be general rooting for the underdog too.
The Jays have been executing the crossing pass really well. We need to cut down on the fouls. That was 3 within 2 minutes.
Stu can't make any shot in the paint ever. I don't think ive ever seen it.
You play to win the game
Our guys can stop getting blocked any time now, ime.
manny and sims have been no shows thus far offensively. they've got way more energy than us right now.

there we go. take it to the hole manny. we need you to be aggressive in stretches like this.

Manny is leading the game in points. The guy covering him is playing really well, really tight. The Creighton full court defense seems to be giving us some trouble.
We need to either get hot from 3 or find another way to get penetration. The Jays have been solid on defending the inside.
Novak F'in rules.
BOOM. Sims'd and Novak'd.
Next year I think Novak is going to be the guy that fans of every other team in the conference absolutely hates. This year it's still Chris Kramer but he's done after this season. It'll be nice to have the dominant conference Hustle Dork on our team.
I just wanted to say that. Him to Chris Martin is a gulf as wide as the Pacific. It helps that he actually watches the game he's announcing.
novak's playing his arse off.
is anyone else getting a bit annoyed with llp?

good lord, nice turnover llp. get him off the court please.

Am I the only one that thinks it's embarressing that the color commentator is confusing Michigan's 2-3 zone for the 1-3-1?
I know it's an easy mistake to make, but the 1-3-1 would feature a guard running the baseline with Sims/Gibson playing at the FT line until the ball moves to the corners/baseline.
It's Great to Be A Michigan Wolverine
I was thinking the same thing throughout the first half, but I figured my lack of solid basketball knowledge had me missing something.
Sims has been playing at the free throw line most of the time and there usually has been a shorter guy under the hoop running around from what I've seen.
True, but Sims/Gibson are still matching up to the weakside post players. That's a responsibility that would fall onto the last "1" in the 1-3-1. Like I mentioned, the big giveaway that the team is in the 1-3-1 is that you'll have a guard exclusively on the baseline. That definitely isn't what they are running right now.

That is a TERRIBLE offensive foul call, and now we have a 3 point lead at the half instead of 6 or more. Huge call.
llp was out of control and he pushed off.

That wasn't out of control. Out of control is what got him into the corner.
And if that's a push-off, then they could call an offensive foul on every single play. The guy did not have position at all, it's not an offensive foul unless LLP puts the arm in his neck or face. You could tell even the announcer thought it was BS.
So I'm guessing you moonlight as a ref?
He was clearly out of control bringing the ball up, but he gathered himself and the ref made the foul call simply because Young was playing energetic defense and the crowd was urging him on.
"There was a time I could have been mistaken for Burt Reynolds. I had a moustache and so did he. But he was the number one star in the world, so there wasn't really much confusion."
Talk about a ref getting caught up in the excitement of the moment. Terrible.

Holy crap that was a despicable call on LLP.
Where does the NCAA find these clowns? And how are they never held responsible for being horrible at their jobs? If they worked in any other industry, they'd be fired (unless they worked for the Free Press).
They get their notes from Ed Hightower, obviously.
Pretty questionable reffing calls to enter the break. Overturning possesion because the other coach bitched? And that offensive foul was ridiculous. Dude slipped.
In fairness, I thought Gibson slipped when a Creighton player was called for a trip earlier. Both were bad calls.
and pressure of the season. Let's hope well.
"A house divided against itself cannot stand"
We gave them way to many easy looks and cuts in the first half.
Gotta cut down on that.
Well shit.
Man is Peedi looking GREAT! We need stops now.
It's Great to Be A Michigan Wolverine
We need to get the ball to Manny more. We have a complete mismatch but we're not utilizing it.
It's Great to Be A Michigan Wolverine
LLP is keeping us alive right now. We need to slow this game down and get some rebounds. Speaking of which, a great play by Manny to get the board and keep the ball.
It's Great to Be A Michigan Wolverine
Zone defense is looking really good so far. Doing a really good job of getting boards.
