Basketball Open Thread: NW at Michigan
Hits both. Mich up 64-61. 23 secs. Left. Nw ball.
6 secs left.
I just wish this game would hurry up so we could get to the Nebraska Penn St game...
How dumb was that NW
They really burned a lot of time, and then had to foul Burke again. Should be about 6.8 on the clock, I think.
When Burke hits his freethrows, Michigan needs to foul IMMEDIATELY
beilien never presses here
YOU HAVE TO BE JOKING ME
Timmy what the FUCK
omg wtf hardaway
EDIT: You got bailed out my friend
Are you kidding me? Ok, they can only tie it and he has to make all three
Wow, that was a close one... thank god for that miss.
It was ugly, but still a big win.
Jeebus, our clock operator kinda sucks...
So important to get the home win against a lesser (albeit possible tournament team) opponent.
Double double post. Anyway, we need the Iowa game too, and then even 2-3 through the next 5 games afterward would be ok.
My lucky shirt came through again...
Which one is it?
Fought back and Burke has nerves of steel at the free throw line. Not too many more positives to take from it. Yay, but ugh.
Well, we didn't make it easy on ourselves but we kept fighting.
Gonna need a strong drink after that one.
What an ugly game. At least it's a win.
Yeah. Any other of our games and we lose if it came down to FT.
Came out with win, wasn't pretty, but the W is what counts
Tim just wanted to do it...
Ugly win but a win is a win, after all. GO BLUE!!
For sure. NW could be in early slump like Michigan was last season. Close games lost. Good team I think.
NW has lost to #21 Creighton, Baylor, Ohio State, Illinois and us. Obviously, not a powerhouse, but they have a good chance at the tourney.
Some poor decisions by Hardaway there near the end with the ill advised 3 pointer and the foul. It's a good thing Burke is such a baller and stepped up big in OT.
about Hardaway, he's only a sophomore, and he did score 19 points with 9 rebounds and was 5-9 from 3 pt range.....He'll get better and learn more how to avoid taking bad shots and commiting bad fouls as his time with Beilein grows....
Would have been easy to let that one go, and chalk it up to a bad shooting night. Team played D, got a ton of O-glass, and maximized their FT opportunities. Those are the kinds of games that get you over that 21-22 win hump and on to 24-25. Lots of mistakes to work out on the practice court, and I doubt anyone will get overconfident from this win, but its in the books.
at mgovideo. Miss it due to work sigh.
Despite a pretty bad shooting day overall, the defense kept the team close and they were able to pull it out in the end. Definitely not a pretty victory, but one that you'll take in this conference. MSU in a couple weeks scares me, though, if this team continues to struggle to score for long periods of time.
I'll take the win, but damn, WTF? Home against NW and needing OT and missed FTs after a stupid foul??? Was THs there? Because I'd be perfectly OK with him smacking THj upside the head for that.
Did the guys already forget Cazzie telling them to get a streak going? They better come out with more fire @ Iowa.
But a win nonetheless. No way can they go into Iowa and lose after the beating they just got from Sparty. No way they would ever hear the end of it. Stay focused boys. Can't look ahead to next tuesday!
Man, the official clock operator either needs to lay off the booze, or set the damn alarm. Holy hell that guy's got some terrible reaction tome with starting and stopping the clock.
