I bet you Brian and Seth would consider these repeated requests more carefully if people would take the extra step of actually designing something rather than just demanding that someone else do it.  People generally don't enjoy being told what to do.

I'd be willing to throw my hat in the ring for that. I even have a good idea. I'll work on it this weekend. What are the banner dimensions? I want to create something that fits exactly and I'm at work/lazy and don't want to right-click to find the image properties myself.

I mean...I guess Brian could do that. But I really hope he doesn't. Without diminishing Michigan's recent basketball success and how spectacular it was to see, football>>>basketball for me. And that's without yet mentioning footballas Michigan's athletic flagship and the same for this here blog.

I think a lot of us who came of age as sports fans during the Fab Five years regard the two sports as pretty close to equal in importance.  And yeah, we definitely should have had Trey on the banner.  He's the basketball equivalent of a Heisman winner.

Because our basketball team just had its best season in 20 years and deserves a little praise.

Guess this further supports my view that mgoblog = football and UMHoops= basketball.

They get the interview footage and transcripts up amazingly quick.  It's always the first stop when you want to re-live the game the morning after.  And his previews are very very analytical...You will get your full dose of Pomeroy and advanced statistics to be sure...

But let's face it...the writing has improved drastically, but it's still dry and devoid of style.  If Dylan had hired Ace instead of Brian, umhoops would be everyone's go-to...But he didn't, and it isn't.

will always be football.  The slogan is "subs," though, and basketball should be happy with that.  That is a pretty lofty spot.

Those were the old style of banners, whch were replaced in the Amaker years and then again this past season.

The current ones just say "FINAL FOUR" on them, regardless of whether we lost in the semis (as in 1964) or made the championship game (as in 1965, 1976 and 1989).  So it will almost certainly just say "2013 FINAL FOUR."

I'd feature Lewan and each of the starters who return to the basketball team, hopefully riding a foursie with McGary trailing behind on a unicycle.

Edit: You've almost got to put Spike in the basket too...with Kate Upton?  Would that be too busy?

What do you think Six Zero, can you make it happen?

YES PLEASE. LET LOGIC PREVAIL.  Basketball deserves to be the banner Vanna White.  It was an incredible season with ups and (relative) downs that engrossed us all.

The spring game does not equal football season.  Football spring games are for people that don't have basketball, hockey, softball, swimming, tennis, etc to get excited about giving them something to make themselves feel better about their hollow lives.

I am in full support of celebrating a great team.  It has been 20 yrs since we made the title game and there is no guarantee that we will return for another 20.  Lets enjoy it and pay homage to those athletes that made March Madness a totally different experience for Michigan fans in 2013.  In lieu of that, SWIMMING! Connor Jaeger is fast at it.

Oh man I love football and enjoy the spring game but just now realized thanks to you that I have a hollow life for doing so. Crud, guess ill start drinking to fill the void in my life....until the spring game of course.

I want Lewan on the Twosie with Spike photoshopped on the backseat and Mitch riding on his unicycle in the oppsite direction and coach Hoke pointing at all of them for the banner. It is the only possible way for both sides to be happy.

We should have had one during the season, certainly during the stretch run/tournament.  We had a team ranked in the top 5 virtually all season and the NPOY front-runner (who went on to win those awards).

Football may attract the most interest over the course of the year, but I'm not sure if that was the case over the past six weeks or so.  I'd be curious to know how many pageviews the handful of spring football articles got in comparison to the various March Madness articles.  Personally, I found myself consumed by the basketball and not really thinking too much about football during the tourney run.
