Baseball: Questions for Maloney

Submitted by formerlyanonymous on
If you've got questions, I've got a phone call with coach Maloney on Wednesday. Leave some stuff here, I'll see what I can work in. Home opener is this weekend. I have at least one special mid-week post waiting in the hopper looking at team stats. And for who listen to WTKA on your way to work, Maloney will be on at 7:20am tomorrow. For the rest of us, the podcast usually makes it up by the end of the day.

just let him know this - He is a 100% class act. The time he spent with all of the Michigan faitful during their visit to SW Florida affirmed why we all believe it's great to be a Michigan Wolverine! That and the five minutes he spent with my 11-year old sealed the deal that the Michigan lineage shall continue.

but I find these questions interesting because I'll be coaching a little league team for the first time: What sorts of goals have you set for yourself this year? Are they any different from any other year? I understand that your players are scholarship athletes, and they're already very focused on baseball; but, how do you change things up to make sure your players are having fun, and remain refreshed and excited about competing in baseball?

Just saw this on the Baseball Facebook page:
After a 5 hour flight delay in West Palm Beach, a missed flight in Atlanta, and a 12 hour bus ride home from Atlanta to Ann Arbor the team is finally home awaiting the home opener on Friday. Go Blue!
Bad weather, damn you! The team tends to have pretty crappy luck with travel. Last year they suffered a flat tire on the way to Iowa. They've had one or two fairly major delays the last few years. Having to take a 12 hour bus trip blows.
