baseball: M 6 Siena 2
The Michigan baseball team broke a 3-game losing streak today with a 6-2 win over Siena. Travis Maezes hit a 3-run homer, and Jackson Glines, Cody Bruder, Jake Bivens, and Carmen Benedetti each had 2 hits. Starting pitcher Ryan Nutof had a hard time, walking 4 batters in 3.1 innings, but Bryan Pall and Donnie Eaton shut Siena down the rest of the way.
M has another game with Siena today, and then again on Saturday and Sunday. The series is at a neutral site in St. Lucie, Florida.

Michigan plays there every year. Remember it's where the Mets hold spring training. And, of course, the Mets are owned by Fred Wilpon, the benefactor for whom the Wilpon Complex is named.

2 to Long Beach St 2 weeks ago (M won the last game of the series), then last week to Tenn Tech (who M also beat once) and twice to Davidson.

Good to get back on the winning track. The Maize & Blue have the early in the second game of the double-header as well, 1-0 in the 2nd.
In other bat-and-ball news, softball has come out swinging against Toledo, with two home-runs in the first three plate-appearances of the day. Both Sierras (Lawrence & Romero) went yard, giving Michigan an early 3-0 advantage.

Make that 6-0 on a Kelsey Susalla blast. Michigan has plated all 6 batters who have stepped up so far.

Seems legit.
Toledo is certifiably terrible, though. Still...
