Baseball at Louisville: NCAA Louisville Regional

Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on

After pounding regional 2 seed Bradley yesterday, 10-5, Michigan has a much more difficult task today.

Michigan will play regional host Louisville who is the No. 3 national seed in the NCAA Tournament. The game is expected to have a crowd of over 6,000 as Louisville's game last night against Morehead State had that many.

Bradley won the early game today 9-4, eliminating Morehead State and advancing to the second elimination game.

This certainly isn't the first time this Michigan team has faced steep odds. In the B1G Tournament, they knocked off #4 Illinois who had won of 27 of their previous 28 games.

Michigan is arguably the hottest team in the nation right now. Let's see if they can duplicate the magic of the 2007 Nashville Regional where they upset 1 Vanderbilt to win it.

First pitch is at 4pm.

Game is on ESPN3.

Garbage ump can't even look less than a foot in front of his face to see the foot on the bases.

Groundball to first, pitcher covering.  Pitcher had trouble finding the base, but actually had at at least once, possibly twice, before his final attempt to get his foot on the base was late.  It looked funky and the ump blew the call, thinking that the pitcher didn't get his foot on the bag until the third attempt.

Now there are runners on first and second with 2 outs.

Michigan lost their DP spot with Cronenworth moving to pitcher so Bruder can't hit.
