Bars in EL for Game Tomorrow?
Any advice/recommendations for watching the game tomorrow in EL bars?
Going to party tonight, tailgate tomorrow and have no ticket.
Want to watch the game at a bar. Did the same thing at OSU last year, was fun until first 7 minutes of 1st quarter.
Thoughts?

A great place to watch the game in EL is B-Dub's but if your looking for something out of the ordinary try Harper's or Reno's. B-dubs and Harper's are located right by grand river in downtown East Lansing and Reno's is about a mile north of campus on Abbot. Lou and Harry's is an option as well but it is small and gets pretty packed... Let me know if you want any other ideas/details

Are there any TVs at Harper's, if you're not within 6ft of the bar? I am all for drinkin' beers there, but would never have thought of watching a game...

They have a few big screens but there are tons of smaller plasma screens by every booth/table now

B-Dubs has the most open floor plan, so you're less likely to be cornered.
Reno's is a little bit of an older crowd. Harpers is good. The Peanut Barrel is a more chill option. If you want to be a little bit removed from the State kids, you can go downtown Lansing to the Nuthouse--good place.

but if you're a Meeeechigan fan, GTFO of East Lansing. You'll enjoy the game a lot more w/out putting up with the venom. The worst fans in the B10 may be at OSU, but MSU fans are just as bad when it comes to UM week.

I got dragged out to EL for the MSU vs OSU game last year (wearing my Michigan shirt under a neutral hoody). We ended up going to the Riv. I had friends from both schoools there and once Michigan started playing I unveiled my colors to the bar and I wasn't treated badly at all, neither were my OSU friends even though they were beating the belts off of State. I think that will be the plan for tomorrow also.... only tomorrow I will be decked out in Michigan gear because we are actually playing them.

The Spartan Hall of Fame Cafe is a great place to catch a game. It's a few miles from the stadium on the SE corner of Lake Lansing and 127.

Most of these places will be packed early. I know a Reno's manager who expects to be full by 9:30am. I had to made reservations at Champps, which isn't even that close to campus. It's supposed to rain during tailgating time, so that may chase people to the bars earlier than normal.
