The Band is Practicing...
the Star Wars theme song! Should be a great half-time show!

a short block from Elbel Field. She didn't always appreciate it when she was trying to study, but it was great hearing them when we visited, especially this time of year.

Some of the members have been working starting last Friday (9 days ago) and the only day they had off was last Monday (6 days ago). Other than that, they're practicing from dawn to dusk up until the first game. Better call the Freep!

maybe they should consider doing a starwars themed halftime show later in the season, I think it would be well recepted. Although, I'm sure they already have all the shows planned out by now.

A Star Wars halftime show would be fantastic, especially if it managed to incorporate the kind of theatrics they used in the Monty Python or Save Cody / Ferris Bueller halftime shows. Not that you need video or costumed mascots to make a good halftime show, but imagine the possibilities...

There are only about 50 I-A schools already that use that song as their answer to "Temptation."

Problem with a star wars themed halftime show is that it's very difficult/expensive to get permission from John Williams/BMG (I think) for a whole show. Stands tunes are cheaper and easier to obtain permission for.
Also, the idea behind the the star wars tune we have is to play it when Tate takes the field. (the tune is actually called "The Forcier")

I live right across the street form the practice field, and I am more than excited to listen to them practice every day this fall.
