Bama picks up 4* DT Recruit Phidarian Mathis

Bama just picked up a 4* DT out of Louisiana. It was down to LSU and Bama. Here's to hoping that Saban went all out for him after Solomon told him of his plans for tomorrow.

Solomon is a huge need. So is Gay also unfortunately but you have to feel encouraged by the tea leaves on Aubrey. We need Olinemen badly. The Najee harris ideology of not going against the best at Michgigan may hold some water as it pertains to the Dline. We need to fix that and get some more blue chip linemen in here. Filiaga and Ruiz are real deal but we are a little understocked at the tackle spot overall.

Bama insiders are saying Solomon's still in play. Rumors are he's told one or both staffs that he's coming.

Basically no one has a read on him and it could go either way. This probably has 0 bearing on Solomon.

Probably not indicitive of anything. They just had a 4-star DT Akial Byers not qualify and Mathis is now the lone DT commit in their class. My guess is this has no bearing on Solomon.

He was one of those guys who wanted Alabama but they were slow playing him. Now that they know Aubrey is going elsewhere they scooped up the slow play guy. I don't buy the they need tackles they only have so many spots they can sign and I just think it was Solomons or the other guy. There is one other thing bothering me, according to Sam, Aubrey just got back last week from an OV to to SC. NTSC either and he has been pretty mum about the visit since coming back. This could be a possible kick in the balls redundant yes but it scares me that much. I am puckered up waiting for his announcement at 10:30 am tomorrow and I will be extatic if he pics up the M cap on the table.

......he's taking Solomon's spot but the timing could be relevant if Saban asked him to wait on committing until after they knew if Solomon was coming or not.
