I'm getting less expectant about this season. Gosh, I love Michigan and our football teams so much, but this five-ten year plan is wearing. Perhaps it's because it was coupled with a three and out. So, I'll hold on to see the product this year.

You can look at the datapoints associated with both programs and come to a wash - they had a depleted line, we do too.  They have good coaches and good guys, we do too.  They had more success last year, we have a new OC and a better school.  But end of day, the fact that this kid had a longstanding personal relationship with Nuss and eschewed that, does in fact raise a small eyebrow in terms of Nuss's recruiting.

I prefer however, to look at it this way - any kid who goes to Alabama clearly has a different value set than a kid coming to Michigan, and in fact has a value set more akin to Ohio (cough, "I didn't come here to play school", cough).  I personally don't know much about this kid and if it turns out he was class valedictorian, or does in fact value academics a great deal, then the eyebrow raise vs Nuss increases that much further.

I havent posted in 6 months...trying to internalize this off season and not over react but at this point, fuck me....

The program is in the pits

Given our situation on the o-line, Lindsay was a 6* recruit. We just lost said 6* to our biggest recruit. why god have you forsaken me.

Can't believe Nussmeier couldn't pull him in... Have to believe this is Urban saying, "You'll start this year," vs. "You'll compete for a starting job," from Hoke and Co. Good luck to him, except in Ann Arbor.

Disappointing, but as a one year player it would have represented a relatively minor change in the trajectory of our O-line. The much more important factor is the growing experience and depth.

So, we basically got jinxed by our own fearless leader's list of players post that prematurely penciled Lindsay into the roster?  Well, that was dissapointing.

On the bright side, this leaves open the exciting possibility of a mid-season position switch shake-up when the O Line struggles. Who isn't pumped to see Chris Wormley take a crack at playing center?

Lately I have been having the same sick feeling I had when I watched Wisconsin run the ball on 37 of their last 38 plays in 2010 (and the last 32 in a row BTW).  I remember thinking this is what it must be like like to literally watch the wheels come off the wagon.  I remember thinking Rich was doomed and we had nowhere to go but downhill fast.

It's starting to feel like that again to me.
