A Bama-ND BCS Championship Game?

Submitted by team126 on

K-state is not going to make it to unbeaten; Oregon looks unlikely too that it would maintain unbeaten.

Of course USC is waiting for ND but USC looked just plain ordinary.

Alabama will meet (and beat) Auburn (hey, give us Derick Green!), and it will beat Georgia for SEC championship.

Of all scenarios, an Alabama-ND match probably is the worst that Brian Kelly  can get.

Going only by the win-loss column and just looking at the national stat numbers maybe you could make a case that ND has a chance, or will win.  But I think if you like, actually watch the games, and dig a little deeper, it's obvious why bama should be pretty heavily favored.

ND and bama have 1 common opponent.  Bama crushed us on a neutral site field.  ND eeked out a win at home after we turned the ball over 6 (!) times.  ND eeked out another win over a pathetic Purdue team.  Took 3 overtimes to beat an extremely weak Pitt team.  And barely edged an unranked BYU team that may be scrappy and good defensively but really shouldn't give a true #1 team much trouble.

Bama has rolled all similar opponents.  Yes, they struggled in death valley against LSU, but are you seriously going to ding them for that?  They had one loss where they were sleep walking at the beginning of the game, and the guy many have as their #1 Heisman candidate pulled a crazy win out.  Such is life.

But come on man, get serious here.

I remember when I first read this thread and agreed with other posters that the timing was too early as both games were at halftime. Now the original poster looks like a genius. Maybe be could get a prediction on the National Championship game itself?

Also, does Michigan beat Ohio next week?
