B2 Flyover at Michigan - Airforce

Here is a video I took from the field.  Enjoy (it was a lot louder than it sounds in the video!)

Commercial-airliner big.  Wider, by a lot, than a 737.  Almost as big as a 747.  Nothing like a fighter jet.  Almost indescribably awesome.  I've seen maybe a half-dozen B-2 flyovers, including at the Chicago airshow (from the perspective of a high-rise looking at Lake Michigan which is an amazing way to view low-flying military aircraft), and it is the star of every show I have ever witnessed.

I vote for a massive pos-bang of the OP; nice video.

I did some more research, and boy, let me tell you, military technology is quite remarkable.  Take this YouTube.com video for example: "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kIXtcCHbOCQ".  You can see 80, 500 lb JDAM bombs dropped from a single B2, each hitting their intended target on the ground.  Essentially, one aircraft could take out 80 basketball court-sized targets in one pass.  Anothing thing many people don't consider is that the United States is one of the select (if not only) countries who have the resources to train regularly with live ammo, which makes the force much more prepared than even the next highest spender (China).

Did you guys notice yesterday you couldnt hear the B2 until after it was past you?  If you were on the business end of a bombing run you'd only know it was there after it became a very bad day.

As cool as the B-2 flyover was, I have been at many events, the Rose Bowl, Indy 500, air shows, etc. where B-2's did flyovers.

I have never been at any event where we had an eagle fly around the venue.  Very, very cool and very impressive watching that amazing bird fly around the Big House.  The Bald Eagle has been on the seal of the United States since 1782.

That is very impressive. More than $1 billion plane flying over. Glad that our brave men and women of the Air Force fly these things.

If communism hadn't existed, that awesome machine—and virtually every single plane in our Air Force—wouldn't have been developed. Our air shows would consist of Piper Cubs and Beechcraft Bonanazas doing flybys at 100mph. You should thank Nikita Kruschev and Leonid Brezhnev, pal.

I live in Saline and the B-2 was making a few approach runs. It was turning south almost exactly where I live (on the south west part of town) and it flew right over my house. The same thing happened last year during the F-14 flyover for the Nebraska Game. Got some shots of the B-2 almost right over my house. It is amazing how quiet that plane is. Just glad that they are on our side...
