Does this mean Nebraska has become more beatable or Ohio gain a little respect?

Both of their defenses showed

Both of their defenses showed they are in no way built to stop good offenses, particualry those with running QBs.  I think on paper Nebraska will be a harder opponent because they have a semi-functional offense whereas the Bucknuts a no-functional offense.

'Bucknuts a no-functional

'Bucknuts a no-functional offense'

Oh I so yearn for a Yakety Sax come November 26th; it's been running through my head since they lost to the Sparties, tatata taa ta tatatata...

Yes. Ohio is 0-2 in

Yes.

Ohio is 0-2 in conference in the first time in forever and blew a 21-point lead.  That doesn't earn you respect.

Yes but Miller was playing

Yes but Miller was playing pretty well until he got injured. There's a chance they hold them out and beat them

After the last three years, I

After the last three years, I take these games one at a time, assured that I will probably not get through any of them sober. Purdue: I'm not worried about. Iowa: not really worried about. After that: I'll keep myself worried, to avoid any painful shocks.

Disagree

I'm still worried about Iowa to avoid a painful shock. And after UMass, 2008, and that one game some time back, I'm worried about Purdue too.

But mostly, I'm excited for Sparty

Yes And No

Does Nebraska look beatable? Yes. Their defense was exposed in the Wisconsin game, and the reason it was exposed was again made evident in last night's game.

Does Ohio earn respect? Even though Braxton Miller looked like he nearly had something going on offense when he came out, blowing a 21-point lead earns you zero respect, especially when you show the world conclusively that you have no run defense to speak of.

It wasn't in this thread, but somewhere in another one - there was quote from an OSU fan to the effect that if they couldn't contain Martinez, they'd have no shot with Denard. It's looking like this might actually be an astute observation - however accidental - coming from Columbus.

Neither team looks remotely

Neither team looks remotely ready to stop a good offense.  Wiscy demolished the black shirts last week, and OSU couldn't slow down Nebraka once it just ran its base offense.  I don't count any game as a win before it happens, but OSU and Nebraska are definitely in the "leaning to win" category, which is a major departure from the toss-up/probable loss they were to start the year.

Ohio's defense is not that

Ohio's defense is not that bad, but they don't have conditioning and/or depth. Nebraska ran all over them in the 4th quarter, and I don't think it was due to any changes in their gameplan. Losing a 21 point lead to a run, run, run team is demoralizing and highly unlikely.

So, OSU has a very good defense for 2-3 quarters and a good offense if Miller keeps improving; Nebraska has a good not great offense and good not great defense; the rest is below average or worse

I don't think I"ve ever had

I don't think I"ve ever had so many quiestions about how good teams actually are this far into the season.  Even with teams who have played common opponents, like UM and MSU against ND, I just don't really know how the teams stack up.

Hoke

I think Hoke has changed the tide on the rivalry. Hell people in Ohio are starting to believe him. Never in a million years I would have thought that. Selling Michigan jerseys is a good start.

Miller is gonna be good, but

Miller is gonna be good, but he's just totally raw right now.  I think that's a big reason the playcalling has been so "bad". It's vanilla cause the OC probably thought he could get something out of the Baus, but as we've seen, that will NOT happen...like ever.

Nebraska is just up and down and have been all year. And I expect that to continue.
