B1G logo painted on Michigan Stadium 25yd lines (w/PIC)
Just received this email from a friend. Apparently, the B1G logo will be painted on the 25yd lines on the field at ohio stadium. It also mentions that every team will wear B1G logo patches on their jerseys, which has been confirmed. However, it then said....
Whether you like it or not, get used to the Big Ten’s “B1G” logo. This fall, every football team will wear the logo on its jerseys (here’s a look at Illinois’ patch) and it also will appear on the teams’ fields.

Part of me thinks all of this is because of the SEC, PAC-12, Big 12 etc. having their conference 25yd line logos/jersey patches. Especially with all of the SEC pride crap going on.
EDIT: Thanks to All_In_For_Michigan (still hated that slogan) for the picture of the logos.
It seems the B has been painted blue.
Only if it is painted in bumblebee stripes.

It has begun.
Why do we need a Big Ten patch? Everyone knows what conference we're in.
I thought today was Penn State's day to hate themselves?
I was already pissed when I got home from work and my mom informed me that Toussaint was hit with a DUI. Now these wonderful B1G logos are going to ruin the field. Wonderful.
Crisler Center pulled off the B1G logo quite well. Made it real subtle. Perhaps the Big House can do the same
Great idea. We can paint it in the color "turf green."
I feel like some sort of angry god is trying to shove all of the bad / lame / unexciting Michigan news of the summer in one day under the shelter of the PSU allegations. Clark, Toussaint, logos on the field, and newer lamer jerseys all in like 12 hours
Source: I saw it yesterday
I think the B1G logos will look okay. Michigan always manages to make things work. Look at the ones on the basketball court?
I think this has to do with the SEC having patches and logos. The B1G wants to generate B1G pride like the SEC slapdicks have.
I spoke too soon. Dammit Frank Clark!
At least the logo is team-colored. I'm guessing the same thing will be done with the field logos.
I don't think Judas Priest would care. He's already breaking the law.
The hits just keep on coming today...
Marketers of the world, UNITE. And then get the @#$! off my lawn.
Seriously. Who cares? They're not renaming it Domino's Big House sponsored by the new cheesy bread. It's a conference logo. I'm more fine with the conference logo than all of these crazy ass alternate uniforms.
Being a Big Ten team is part (albeit a small one) of the Michigan tradition. The logo isn't that big of a deal. In fact, it's nothing.
I'm happy that they said they only are using alternate unis in the Bama game. Keep the solid maize and blue unis. Quit trying to screw with it. It doesn't need to be updated.
This is not something to get in a snit over. If the conference wants the logo on the field, then so be it. now, if they say it's gotta be at the 50, then no. But a small 25 yard line homage to the B1G? No problem.
Right. There is a difference between putting it at the 50 or the 25. It unifies the conference and gets the new logo out there. We didn't cry when they put it in Crisler. Why now? I get that Michigan football tradition is sacred, but things change. We aren't crying about not wearing wool uniforms or HD video boards. Why piss and moan about this?
not a huge issue for me. The patch looks fairly small but wonder how it will look on the jerseys with the legacy patches.
As for the B1G logo on the field, on the bright side, at least it isn't the "#goblue" twitter marketing ploy.
FWIW Michigan only wore the Big Ten logo once on their uniforms in the regular season was 1995. Commemorating the 100th anniversary of the conference.
Much prefer this to clowinformz. I am proud of being in the conference in college football that comes closest to doing things the right way. They want a patch on our shirt, fine.
Thought that as I wrote it. And obviously the Penn State scandal tempers it -- a lot, but I still think as a group the B1G does the right thing more often than most conferences.
Fuck today..Im going to bed
I can't say I'm happy with breaking the clean look of our field, but it's not the end of the world. Today's news is a reminder of more important concerns.
Somehow, today just seems as though it was the worst possible day to put a Big Ten emblem on the field. Not that there ever would be a good day. I hate this.

the logo is still awful.
I love the University of Michigan. Sports, academics, tradition, prestige and everything that comes with it. But good God people - stop complaining. It's not 1907 anymore. Some of you would still complain about switching to real helmets over leather if you could.
The helmets aren't leather? Crap ... another bubble goes "pop."
ohio had the Big 10 incorporated into their 50 yard line logo where the O was a zero for a couple decades.
Yes and it looked completely ridiculous for a couple of decades.
Don't care too much about this though. Considering how many times the field has looked completely different I'm not sure where the anger is coming from.
I loved that logo.
I ran out on field and danced all over it in 1986 after OSU missed a field goal that sent Michigan to the Rose Bowl (the Jim Harbaugh guarantee game).
is right.
...is that they both face the camera as opposed to each facing the crowd on its side of the field. Asymmetry sucks.

EDIT: On a side note, you may have solved the "You Suck" thread dispute. I vote for "Asymmetry Sucks!"
I'd prefer not to have them, but I don't really see the big deal. Every other major conference has their conference logo at the 25 yard line, the B1G wasn't going to hold out forever. It actually looks like it will be less clunky than most other conferences. And yes, the patches add up after a while, but if we have a flag on our helmets then maybe we won't have the flag patch on our jerseys. Then most players are only looking at a B1G patch, which really doesn't look awful.
As to the other bad news, I don't have any comforting words other than to say that the alternate jerseys could be a lot worse. We all knew they were coming. At least they put a block M back on the shoulders. If it weren't for the maize stripe I think they would be pretty darn nice.
ok team, its been a rough day, but in the grand scheme of things some extra paint on the football field which will in no way hinder the team or your watching experience at all, is not cause for alarm.
Lets reconvene tomorrow when everyone has taken a few deep breaths and has an understanding of relevence once more.

if I didn't think the new Big Ten logo was really, really, REALLY ugly. Unfortunately, I think the new logo is perhaps even uglier than that. At least it's not in that horrible baby blue color, though that's a tiny miracle. If it was the old Big Ten logo, I'd say whatever, be momentarily, moderately displeased and move on, but because I hate this logo so much, I despise putting it on the field and the unifroms. And the fact that I'm going to have to see that whenever I watch any Big Ten team play doesn't make it better, it makes it worse.
You people complain about everything. GET OVER IT.
It's been a tough 24 hours. This and the jerseys are the least deserving of complaint. 1) the jersey looks pretty classy and 2) Delaney's the one behind the logo. Not much DB or anyone can do.
At least, that's what we've always done in the past. There have been multiple seasons where the B10 (not the B1G era) had patches on uni's and markers on the field. And we've said no. Our uniforms are too pure and pristine to put them on there. Now that we can't use that argument anymore, we're caving. And probably to get us used to whatever other logos they want to put on the field #goblue. I don't think the logo look horrible on the field (even though it's a horrible logo); I just don't like that we've jumped in the boat with everyone else to become Delaney's bitch.
...is headed for a disaster of biblical proportions. Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling! Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes, volcanoes! The dead rising from the grave! Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria!
Ya don't see a good Ghostbusters reference much these days. Well played.
...is this our tribute to Penn State?
Edit.: Here is OSU's application, in Ohio Stadium. The Buckeyes went with black and white, it appears (or did they go with the same blue and white?!?):
