B1G Championship Game Thread

We don't root for either team...who do you want to LOSE more?

MSU vs. Ohio, who wins? who loses? score?

It's rather unfortunate that someone, by rule, must win this contest, but I suppose that, if I had to choose, I would want Ohio to lose more. Yesterday still stings. The question tears me up inside because I want State to choke again too for the entertainment value.

97% of me doesnt care.  3% believes it makes UM look better if Ohio wins.  I will never root for either of them though (except when we win a championship for it!)

It might be better for us if Ohio wins.  If they look like crap today, then we by extension look like crap for getting blown out by them.  (Of course, it's also possible that our seeding has been set already and it doesn't matter.)

BTW, does this website not observe daylight savings time?

68-56 type game.  Man, they are looking good.  Ohio is back from out of their slump and is also a Final Four caliber team, but Sparty right now has it goin' on.  I'll take option three and the meteor.  Silver Lining...Our guys get a nice day to rest and prepare for the real tourney.

Have you ever watched him play basketball? He constantly whines to the refs and the reason I said it was his purposely bumping into half the MSU team after getting fouled. This being an open thread I assumed other posters would also be watching the game.

Why is punk such a "classless" accusation? Your post is pretty indignant for a seemingly harmless word. Did a guy with a mohawk knock the ice cream out of your hand when you were a kid?

Sullinger is a bitch ass punk. He complains so much. He'll have to learn a new language or two so the refs can understand him in Europe in a couple years.

gotten rid of the 3 second rule?  I never see it called anymore.

On other topics, the Deadspin article quoted on this site recently is incorrect; it is now allowable (likely for ecology reasons) for Michigan (or Cincinnati or MSU) to be put in the Columbus regional.  Lunardi has all 3 of those nearby teams coming to town.  Could be interesting.

Completely offtopic but I am SO hoping for a Friday/Sunday game placement when they announce the brackets.  I am taking the avitar to NYC on Thursday for the opening of "Death of a  Salesman" and we're flying back Saturday night.  So if we get placed in the Thursday/Saturday game set I'm f*cked.

Not to spoil it for you, but the guy dies at the end.  He also has a kid named Biff, which is kind of funny.  That is about the extent of the highlights.

If there is a scheduling conflict (or not), you should just give your plane/show tickets to one of her girlfriends.  The Mrs. looks awesome in front of her friend because her man makes magic shit happen, the friend will probably be willing to bang you at a later date if that should ever become desirable (and even if it doesn't interest you, this can be used as subtle leverage to make your girl act right at all times), and you get to see the game.  Throw in a few bucks for shopping and you look like a total G but still don't miss the game.

Then you can spend the weekend drinking in your underwear in front of the TV, or roll out to Vegas and do the same thing in public.  Either way the wife is happy and you are still livin' the dream.

I think this might have been discussed elsewhere but what are the chances we play in Columbus? I'd love to go if it was that close.

from the potential host paper with quotes from the Selection Committee:

•  Teams are sent to sites as close to home as possible to alleviate travel.

•  The first three teams selected from the same conference must be placed in different regions.

...

•  The committee tries to keep a region’s top four seeds from having to face an opponent with a home-crowd advantage.

and

Columbus could play host to Michigan State, Michigan, Indiana, Purdue or some combination of those Big Ten teams. Cincinnati could return for the second time in eight years.

I feel the opposite. This is probably the most likable OSU team in any sport I can think of IMO. Sullinger, while he does whine about officiating, is generally a classy person and his dad is awesome. Craft is a very good defensive player. I played against Buford in high school and he's a nice kid. Thomas is the only OSU player I don't like and that's mostly because he doesn't do much on defense. I don't like Matta, but I don't like many opposing coaches. I don't like OSU, but there aren't alot of obnoxious personalities on their team like there has been in the past (BJ Mullens, Evan Turner, old man Oden, Ron Lewis etc.)

If Craft and Sullinger don't get under your skin I don't know what to tell you. Their team has no basketball IQ and are all about the individuals. They have 1 assist total in the 1st half of this game. I didn't think there was anything remotely annoying about Oden

The only reason I see why Craft would get on someone's nerves is that he gets away with being handsy on defense quite a bit. But when you build the reputation as being the best on ball defender in the conference, you're going to get away with alot. Sullinger is a nice kid. He whines about officiating too much for my liking as well, but there aren't alot of players out there that don't whine. After games, I've never seen him really sulk and show up the opponent even afer a loss. I think he gets it from his dad, who is a really cool guy.

They do it because they can get away with it.  If you stress that it's going to be a point of emphasis next year and start enforcing the rule, it'll stop.  There's no reason for that to be tolerated.  They have their little box that they can roam in.  They don't need to step onto the court.
