Minnesota and Penn State are a combined 4-18 from three point land, so this in combination with the other games in the BTT so far make this possibly the day that no outside effs were given in the Big Ten. Stats? Eh, Penn State is shooting at a mind-boggling 33.87% effecitve FG percentage, which is much less impressive than Minnesota's "meh" 46.00% effective FG percentage.
This might be a dumb question, but is "last four byes" a better position than "last four in"
Yes, last 4 in are the 4 at-large teams playing in the 2 play-in games in Dayton while last four byes means they have a regular tourney.
That makes sense now. Thanks for the explanation.
A win would at least keep them there while a loss would put them out and keep them out. We all know how much those wins mean in our march to the 1 seed.
I think if Minnesota wins, then they would be in the tourney, FOR NOW. Arkansas lost and so did California. Dayton and Saint Joe's are playing tommorow and that could be an elmination game. So a win would put them in for now, and 2 wins would make them a lock.
Also, Iowa's RPI is at 46 so we need them to win today as well.
Minny is freaking killing me here - they are falling apart.
I agree. The guy is 7-9 on 3s in the first half. We don't have anyone who could check him defensively.

I'm getting the feeling that teams are struggling with the 3 point line in Indy. Hopefully our team doesn't share that problem or playing Illinois could get a lot harder.
This game is picking up a bit, but man has it been ugly.
If Northwestern manages to Northwestern ball Iowa, yikes.
It's been one offensive abomination after another - not a stirring advertisement for the conference.
I blame that misshapen mess at halfcourt.
This game is boring the hell out of Tirico and Dakich. I'm pretty sure Dakich is three beers deep already. He was just talking about how Richard Pitino leads with his face. Tirico: What else would he lead with?
Thumbs up from me. Although I have to say that I understood what Dakich was saying.
I agree. But it sounds like something you would notice and/or bring up once you've had a few.
I totally buy the idea that Dakich has borrowed Paula Abdul's Coca Cola cup.
Come on, Minny. Ugh.
Austin Hollins is everything for this team.
Hollins D was key on Newbill being denied at the rim.
WTF Minny. Make a free throw. Just one. They just got bailed out by a pretty awful lane violation call.
This is hard to watch out of Minny - and PSU is getting screwed, tbh.
I don't get it. Minnesota has been unable to score. They get a 3 on 1 and pull it out to run off a few more seconds in a one possession game. I would rather push it to two possessions than take another ten seconds off the clock or risk a turnover given how their offense has been doing.
I thought that was questionable out of them, as well. That was the possession that they got the 3 on, though, right?
I mean it worked out in the end, but I feel like at the time it was not a great decision.
That one PSU fan was looking very strangely at his friend. That was bizarre. And the camera wouldn't cut away, lol.
I don't root for Penn State as a rule of thumb, but they got done dirty here.
Wonder what the odds are on Chambers accosting someone in the tunnel. He is hot, and deservedly so.
big win for us- Minn probably can't go below 50 in RPI no right? If they beat Wisc tomorrow- oh man that's big.
Pretty sure that's correct. That didn't come easy, but it's good for us.
Now we need to take care of our business.
They just asked RP how Minny dealt with the pressure. Yikes, not well. Not well at all. That was a mess.
Pretty questionable foul call against Cincy IMO. Looked like a no call. And now I feel bad for the Cincy player because Cronin is going Brian Kelly on him.
I love when a player gets away with a Denzel Valentine Memorial Full On Chicken Wing and the announcer says he "may have gotten away with an offensive foul." Uh, yeah.
UCFs jerseys are terrible
It seems like the rim on that one end has been particularly unforgiving.
Marble is ill on the break. This team has crumbled, but he's really terrific in transition.
I remember when some people were pissed off that we had Beilein as our coach instead of Steve Lavin. I told those people they were really dumb. Take that, those people.
No one is really talking about Iowa as a bubble team, but what if they lose tonight? They're currently 19-11 and 9-9 in league play - does that make them a lock?
If they lose it'll be 1-6 heading to selection Sunday. Not a good position to be in. I'd take Illinois before them if I were on the committee.
and MSU? (school importance trumps proper gramatical form).
Man, they've gone in the crapper. What could save them is playing NW and then MSU (who is in the healthy crapper).
Everyone keeps insisting they are solidly in. I think what helps them are some valuable wins. This also truly is a soft bubble which got even softer with teams like Arkansas blowing it all and bubble teams like Cal not getting the wins they needed.
If they lose, it is hard to believe they shouldn't be sweating, but there are a number of factors in their favor.
This has been mind-numbingly atrocious basketball in all four games, and the favorites have played like complete dogshit.
I hope we can break that trend and in a big way tomorrow.
That kid is bailing Iowa out. They looked completely flummoxed before he hit that run of threes.
with two of the "last four in' losing today and their win.
Adam Woodbury acts like the ref just insulted his mother every time he's called for a foul. It's not a very endearing quality.
Yeah, but no one gives better horrible reactions than Elliason from Minnesota. That kid is hilarious and definitely isn't doing himself any favors.
Man, the way Dakich and everyone goes on and on and on about what Iowa, Michigan State, Ohio State should be or could be, the blue balls on these Big Ten announcers must be ridiculous.
You know, maybe this just is what these teams are.
Holy crap, that was an amazing end to that half.

If Northwestern can pull this W out, I expect Frans head to explode.
