B1G Bowl picture
Making the huge assumption that PSU holds on to their 31-14 lead at #15 Wisconsin, the B1G Bowl picture has just gotten messy.
Wisconsin was a maybe for a BCS at-large bid.
The only known is that ohio will get a BCS bowl, win or lose in Indianapolis.
I personally want Michigan in the BWW Bowl because I think that gives them the best chance to win. Now if they play Georgia......interesting.
November 30th, 2013 at 6:34 PM ^
Michigan is going to the rose bowl due to the fact they have more moral victories then OSU.
November 30th, 2013 at 7:05 PM ^
This made me laugh.
November 30th, 2013 at 11:47 PM ^
How do yo come up with this gold?
November 30th, 2013 at 6:38 PM ^
If Michigan state wins the Big10 title game we will have 2 BCS teams anyways, meaning Wisco is staying home. If Ohio state wins we only get 1 bcs team and the rest is a mess.
November 30th, 2013 at 6:39 PM ^
As of right now from what I saw were projected to play Vanderbilt in the Gator bowl. Not sure if it's been updated.
November 30th, 2013 at 6:41 PM ^
If the team that took the field today shows up for our bowl game, we will crush whichever middling team we play.
If the team that took the field for the two months prior to today shows up for the bowl game, we will lose to whichever middling team we play.
November 30th, 2013 at 7:23 PM ^
I think you mean today's offense. The defense today was pretty bad - I realize there were some key injuries but it was really quite bad in may aspects. Furman in the 1st half was a sieve and 2nd half the entire team looked bad... we didnt offer much resistance on any drive in 2nd half, except one.
As for the offense who knows what will show up in 5 weeks. On one hand you are pleased with what we see today on offense, on the other hand you are upset because you are asking where this was for weeks on end.
November 30th, 2013 at 8:12 PM ^
We were missing Ross, but I honestly feel like the defense today was pretty representative of how they've played all year. I think the defense is average to good this year. We haven't really been tested by a good offense (except for Indiana) until today. Our safeties have been shaky all year. Our tackling has been between mediocre and good. Pass rush was okay, but generally not there. We haven't seen any back like Hyde before today--destroyed arm tackles that we usually get by with--nor QBs like Miller. They're a tough, tough team to defend.
There aren't a whole lot of offenses like OSU's out there. Our defense should do okay against a middle-of-the-road bowl team.

I have no desire to go to Phoenix. Dallas would be acceptable to me.
November 30th, 2013 at 6:43 PM ^
That's the only thing that I don't like about the BWW Bowl.
So you hate late start times, do you?
November 30th, 2013 at 6:59 PM ^
Pfft... Phoenix is wonderful this time of year! LOL but seriously, I wouldn't mind us in the BW3 bowl as tix run around 5 bucks and its a 15 mile drive from my house.
November 30th, 2013 at 6:47 PM ^
Arizona start time is brutal, but we don't really deserve to ask for favors at this point.
November 30th, 2013 at 6:47 PM ^
At last report - and this will likely get updated in the next day or two - ESPN's prognosticators had us either in the Texas Bowl versus Texas Tech or in the Gator Bowl versus Georgia. As someone mentioned, as of right now (subject to normal Sunday update), Jerry Palm has us in the Gator Bowl versus Vanderbilt.
November 30th, 2013 at 6:59 PM ^
we would most likely lose
November 30th, 2013 at 6:55 PM ^
I think we would match up well against TT. They don't have a huge OL or DL so we will do well in the trenches and their secondary is quite weak. I think Gardner would have field day. I would go to this bowl game!
November 30th, 2013 at 7:05 PM ^
I thought they weren't
November 30th, 2013 at 7:41 PM ^
It's not PSU winning, it's Wisky losing.
November 30th, 2013 at 8:12 PM ^
Where is the Texas bowl? Texas can be freezing in December. Would rather go to FL or Cali.
November 30th, 2013 at 9:34 PM ^
Texas Bowl is in Houston.
November 30th, 2013 at 6:56 PM ^
With our fans, I don't see us going to the Gator Bowl. The Georgia matchup would be great.
December 1st, 2013 at 1:34 AM ^
We were 7-5 when we went to the Gator Bowl on NYD 2011. That would be fortunate, I think, to go back there this year. I'd rather us play a NYD bowl for the payoff and prestige, but for selfish reasons I'd love to see us out west for a bowl like BWW.
November 30th, 2013 at 7:06 PM ^
If Ohio wins the Big Ten title game I just hope MSU doesn't slip into a BCS bowl game.
November 30th, 2013 at 7:20 PM ^
Unless MSU looks horrid they will have a very good chance to go to BCS with (a) wisconsin losing and (b) Fresno State losing. The Fresno State loss opened up 1 new at large. Baylor, Oregon, MSU will be grappling for 2 spots IMO.
November 30th, 2013 at 7:45 PM ^
You wrong about Fresno St. losing opening up an at large bid. If N.Illinois wins the MAC they are getting a bid.
Those teams are fighting for 1 spot. My guess would be it goes to Oregon as they have a lot more national appeal.

is the only game that would be interesting to me...everything else is embarassing
November 30th, 2013 at 10:43 PM ^
Would be very nice, but unlikely. I know, I know, we went to the Gator Bowl a few years back at 7-5, but we laid the Humpty Dumpty of eggs at that game.
This is going to sound crazy, but I am somewhat hoping for Little Caesars. I have never seen Michigan play in the post season and there's not a snowball's chance in Hell that my wife would let me spend the money to go now that we have Catholic school for our son next year and college for our daughter in two years. Ford Field is the best I can hope for, as sad as that is to write.
December 1st, 2013 at 1:47 AM ^
There is absolutely no chance whatsoever Michigan goes to the LCPB.
The B1G only has 7 teams eligible. The lowest Michigan could fall would be the Heart of Dallas Bowl. But even then, they will not fall that low. Even if they went 6-6, they would still make the Gator at worst. Minnesota is going to get screwed. They're going to be 8-4 and could fall as low as the Heart of Dallas.
Gator took a horrendous 6-6 ohio team in 2011 and likes crappy teams to accompy their crappy stadium & crappy city.
Now this all changes if sparty wins the B1G title game. Then the B1G will no doubt get 2 BCS bids, bumping everyone up a spot.
I just want to win a bowl game and be happy about something.
December 1st, 2013 at 2:55 AM ^
a 48-28 home thrashing by Wisconsin, and
a 37-7 beatdown @ Columbus.
It's a different ending to this season. With some O-Line experience and 15 practices to drill the lesson learned home, we might be a pretty darn good team come bowl time.
November 30th, 2013 at 7:11 PM ^
I'm hope we get the gator bowl and a sec team
November 30th, 2013 at 7:35 PM ^
Things just got a lost crazier.
November 30th, 2013 at 7:52 PM ^
would be preferable since they don't have a QB. They lost their All American QB Aaron Murrey for the season.
This "moral victory" will bring the entire staff back next year.
FWIW, OSU has a poor defense and it really showed today. I would hate to see them play in the NC because they well get embarrassed and embarrass the B1G.
November 30th, 2013 at 8:00 PM ^
The B1G could not be any more embarrassed over the last few years. Personally I'd love to see OSU get embarrassed in the title game.
Would expose them as the frauds they are.
November 30th, 2013 at 8:12 PM ^
Is MSU guaranteed a BCS bowl even if they lose? If so good for them.
Also - I thought OSU matched up much better with Bama than FSU. FSU is straight up scary.
November 30th, 2013 at 8:21 PM ^
It will depend if they can stay in the top 14. If they stay in the top 14 the only way they could potentially get shut out is if the orange bowl selected Clemson first and allowed the Rose to potentially pick Bama.
November 30th, 2013 at 8:25 PM ^
I hate to be negative but if Hoke's records are 2-2 vs ND, 1-3 vs MSU, 1-3 vs Neb, 1-3 vs OSU after next year. Fired then?
November 30th, 2013 at 8:33 PM ^
Really guy? Hoke is 2-1 against ND. And Michigan does not play Nebraska again until 2018.
Oh, and Michigan is going down to the that dump next year in columbus and winning. It's going to happen.
November 30th, 2013 at 8:50 PM ^
Hell yes they are. Hell yes.
December 1st, 2013 at 2:58 AM ^
what will become of you?
Neither are going to happen.
November 30th, 2013 at 8:28 PM ^
Sooo if OSU beats MSU in a B1G championship game and they get a bid to the NC game, does it mean that MSU goes to the rose bowl?
November 30th, 2013 at 9:01 PM ^
Possible. I am pulling for a Sparty win. I can tolerate them finally going to a rose bowl again over Ohio with a chance at a title. No doubt about this
November 30th, 2013 at 9:15 PM ^
Yeah, I was torn but am coming over to your way of thinking. Incredible that Sparty loss to ND is preventing the B1G championship from being for a slot in the NCG.
November 30th, 2013 at 8:29 PM ^
To start with we do not play Nebreska next year.
November 30th, 2013 at 9:26 PM ^
Is so they can work on some shit with extra 15 practices or so.
November 30th, 2013 at 9:46 PM ^
I have made New Years plans but depending on the location I'll consider a flight out.
November 30th, 2013 at 9:49 PM ^
Next Sunday, December 8, at 9pm on the ESPN bowl selection show.
December 1st, 2013 at 1:03 AM ^
It's going to be the Gator Bowl.
December 1st, 2013 at 3:07 AM ^
MSU will be a top 10 team and won't fall too much with a loss to OSU. I think they are BCSing. Auburn or Mizzou are playing for a defacto BCS bowl with Alabama getting the nod as the second SEC team.
So....
Rose gets first pick and would likely take MSU vs PAC12 Champ (Stanford or ASU)
Orange gets second & third pick likely Alabama vs Oregon
Sugar fourth pick SEC Champ (Auburn) vs NIU or UCF
Fiesta fifth pick BIG12 Champ (Okie St) vs UCF or NIU
