A B1G battle for Eron Harris.
His dad said Eron didn't quite get along with Huggins coaching style. I hope he understands Izzo is just as bad. Its a little weird that he has them in it for his services if what his dad said is true. Guess we will see soon.

But he gets all over his guys, it's just his style. Some guys like that and it works for them, other guys it doesn't.
Now he loves them to death and he'll defend them to the ends of the earth, but I'm not sure you're thinking about that in the middle of practice when you're getting your ass chewed.
Huggins just yells because he's having a bad day and he can't control himself. Izzo yells and goes ape shit crazy for good reason, but he still does it.
Huggins, Beilein and Izzo are all very different. I'd never play for Huggins or Izzo, I'd play for Beilein in a heartbeat. In fact, I'd play for Matta before I played for Izzo.
I've met and worked closely with Thad...he's a red faced weirdo on TV, but in practice he's a lot more laid back and even when he does get upset, it's more team oriented or unit oriented than it is singling someone out in front of everyone else.
Personally, that's just more my style. I don't need you to embarrass me to teach me. I'm old enough to know if I fucked up, yelling at me isn't going to change anything or "undo" that turnover.
I don't need a pat on the back and someone to gas me up 24/7, but I'm just the type of person where if you try to embarass me, I'll just blow you off or lash back if it's really bad. So I'd be on the bench of Hugs and Izzo and I'd be crying like J-Mo the day I left Beilein.
Almost all of Huggy's guys have loved him too...
The overall comparison of styles is a fair one, you'd think they would notice that. Nobody is quite as prickly and drunk as Huggy, but Izzo is kind of like a light version of him...

We are recruiting other players who can take the bigger Jalens place. I believe we can get Bacon if we can get him on campus which we are. I really love Bacon. At least the way he plays the game I think he has a better game then J. Coleman.
Brunson is big time imo.
As noted several times on this blog - Brunson is a point Guard, while Cleman is a SG/wing.
They are being recruited for very different roles. Getting Harris fills us up at the 2-3... but does not effect the recruitment of Brunson.

Seriously though, if the rule is that you have to sit out a year when you transfer, why all the waiver stuff? The reasons that kids get waivers usually are good reasons for a kid to sit out a year and focus on classwork and family issues. More of the same NCAA, impossible to parody.
I hadn't heard anything about this kid asking for a waiver. A waiver would make him eligible to play in'14. He WILL be eligible in '15 no matter what...unless he smokes pot or sniffs glue or jaywalks or something like that.

There's no sugar-coating this one. This is a (1) high-impact player (2) with a skillset that is perfect for Beilein's system (3) who we were in on early and identified quickly and (4) who we have high need for. When you add in the fact that this would give MSU's bleak scoring outlook a much-needed boost, it is absolutely critical that Harris comes here.
Only fans think this way. Coaches simply cannot consider individual prospects "absolutely critical" or "must gets," as fans so often characterize one particular propsect or another. There are so many ways that a particular recruitment can end with the prospect choosing another school that this sort of mind-set makes no sense.
Harris hasn't even set up a visit to Michigan yet, nor does he have an offer. As Sam Webb pointed out today, the coaches haven't completed their due diligence on him yet, which will include determining if he fits the Michigan culture—with a piece of that being the current players evaluating his fit as well. There's a long way still to go here.
So he's absolutely critical to you. But whenever anyone says something like this, they make it seem as if it's absolutely critical to the program. My point is—it's not.

Chiming in as a spelling Nazi. The phrase is "left at the altar," as in, you're in the process of getting married and your fiance doesn't show up, thereby leaving you alone at the altar. "Left at the alter" could mean left at the point of change? Not sure. Interestingly, the altar is the place of sacrifice where blood is given. (sign the LOI in blood?) Oh, and for any PC folks: the altar is common for many, many, religions, so very few are left out: Wicca, Satanism, Druidism, Judaism, Paganism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Shintoism, Taoism, Norse Religion, Chirsitanity, all used or use altars. I guess true atheists would be neglected, since with no God or gods, there is nothing to sacrifice to.
It looks like he is getting interest from a lot of teams i.e. Kentucky, UCLA, Indiana, Purdue, Butler...
