B1G Awards/All-Conf show on BTN right now
They just showed Beilein and Stauskas being mic'd up in the intro saying "we'll talk to our winners"
Here we go!
I don't know about that. I found it an interesting response. I think the team is going to be ready.
I'll just say he seems fucking focused.
He's a really nice man, but I would not want to try to make small talk with that dude right now. He seemed zeroed in.
John Beilein just said this award "doesn't mean anything" then went on talking about how great of a job Tim Miles did.
Congratulations, Coach. pic.twitter.com/FstwT8EPn9

Is he yelling at Teddy Valentine or Izzo?
Who was on the 2nd team along with Caris?
No coach here has ever won the B1G Coach of the Year without winning the outright B1G Championship
Johnny Orr in 1973-74 and 1976-77, Bill Frieder in 1984-85 and now John Beilein.
The BTN really likes spoiling the selections, lol.
Congratulations to Walton Jr. for making the all-freshman team!
Ah, excellent! We've reached the truly mature part of the conversation where we downvote comments like one that congratulates DW on his selection.
I owe someone a beer.
And someone a warm glass of prozac. Seriously, this is so unbelievably childish. If you disagree, just disagree like a man. Running around to someone's old posts, I mean really, really?
Are you worried you're not going to have enough points for the next MGoSticker Exchange?
I think it's a fair question. I don't know the answer. It just seems so antisocial. Three hundred downvotes of old posts seems so creepy to me.
Vonleh freshman of the year, Hayes 6th man of the year, both all-freshmen, along with Walton, Stephens (Purdue), and Nunn (Illinois).
JMo just tweeted: "Noted..."
Would love to send him out with two or three more trophies
Specifically re: him not getting all Big Ten defensive honors, if you're curious.
AJ Hammons is instead because look at all those blocked shots! And poor rotations, but whatever, blocked shots!
Love it.
I figured the media would love the upstart Huskers more and give it to Miles while the coaches would respect Beilein's work more and give it to him
The media doesn't need to recruit against Beilein, so they vote for Beilein.
UM is pulling good players from Indiana and Ohio, as well as Michigan. Oh yeah, and developing them into first round NBA picks.
That said, Tim Miles did a great job at Nebraska this year and deserves recognition.
Also my opinion.
That's just the online guys' votes.
Stauskas officially player of the year, which is not a surprise.
It's official, @NStauskas11 is Big Ten Player of the Year. #GoBlue pic.twitter.com/2AGQzVD8dT

awesome-ness. 2 for 2. Dear 2015 recruits, please observe....
Regarding the Coach of the Year, I think Michigan is the better team, I think Beilein has done an incredible job, I think it is amazing what he has accomplished losing Burke, Hardaway, and McGary.
Having said all that, I still understand Miles getting the award. Nebraska basketball was nothing, and they have done an incredible job. I don't see this as a slight on Beilein. Frankly, with some of these awards, I believe the voters want to "balance" where they are going. Because Burke won so much last year, and Stauskas won POY, and Michigan won the League Championship, I could see some voters giving the COY award to Miles as a way to acknowledge that he had done well.
I don't think Beilein has sour grapes, and honestly, for him to perform at the same level means a lot more to me than any COY awards.
I'll answer my own question higher on the page
2nd team media: Yogi, Caris, Craft, Payne, Newbill
2nd team coaches: same as above, but without Craft and add Dekker from Wiscy
Denvel Valentine just won the Sportsmanship award so we now have far and away the worst award decision of the night.
Msu Awards show
Tom Izzo is hosting his own awards show tonight at 3 am on cinemax for anybody interested. B1G player of the Year Gary Harris, B1G coach of the year Tom Izzo. 1st team selections Adrian Payne, Keith Appling, Kenny Kaminsky, Gary Harris and Denzel Valentine. Excuse of the Year was a tie between injuries and refs and it not being fair Michigan can recruit again.
