because it seems like he answered the mid-season questions quite well, and is headed for the NBA.  Great honor for him and a testament to his hard work, great coaching and great teammates.

Congratulations to Coach Miles. I still think this is more disrespect, particularly by the other coaches.

Frankly, I think the other coaches are having a hard time dealing with what Coach Beilein and staff are doing at Michigan.

I'd find it unsettling, too, if I were say, a wee little angry muppet or a pervy creep who needs a belt.

The quandary this year perhaps is that the probably both deserve it for different reasons, as was discussed in a thread this morning. I do think you have to give Tim Miles a lot of credit for doing more with less at Nebraska. This was a team that was picked to jealously guard the cellar in the Big Ten this year and they end up beating Wisconsin in their final game and earning a bye in the conference tournament and probably a shot in the big dance. That's a position no one thought they would be in, perhaps not even Nebraska. I do believe there is something to be said for blowing away expectations, and no one perhaps knows that better than our own coach, who has done it repeatedly at a few programs in his career.

"it's just nothing new for the other coaches to stick it to Michigan"

Is that why Stauskas was unanimously voted to the All-B1G team and player of the year by the coaches?

Tim Miles was absoutely deserving of this award and just because Beilein didn't win both doesn't mean there's some giant  conspiracy against Michigan. Almost every coach talks about how much they respect Beilein before and sometime after the games.

The vote may very well have been 7-5 with Beliein himself voting for Tim Miles (as his interview would suggest).

You're fourth generation. You don't understand what is part of Michigan's history with the other Big Ten coaches? Really?

Beilein's interview may mean any number of things - it may mean that he's someone who on principle never votes for himself, for all we know.

Izzo has taken shot after shot at this program, and finally didn't have anything he could say this year, although, still, it was really all the injuries.

Stauskas won because he was the clear choice and it's different to snub a player versus snubbing a program. But Iowa collapsed down the stretch, Petteway tailed off, and MSU was a disaster at the end of the year. Stauskas went off at Illinois and clinched the conference and the POY award.

None of this has ever been meant as any disrespect to Coach Miles, who did a tremendous job and seems to have quite a future ahead of him.

I've just seen guys do what he did before, or at least do something similar (see JB, etc.).

I honestly do not know that I've seen anything like what Coach B and Co. accomplished before. And that's in 30 plus years of following the game. To win it was incredible, to win it going away, that's madenss.

Think what you will. I believe that the Michigan attitude of being above the knife fighting is how we end up with crippling sanctions and get screwed out of going to that Rose Bowl, and, for example, the Buckeyes' willingness to lie, cheat, and steal and above all else, play the game is how they get busted in bkb and recruit the #1 class in the country and get busted in football and land a two-time MNC-winning coach.

Caris will win POY next year - shoo in if Yogi doesnt stick around :)  or maybe McGary.  Petteway is the other guy, curious to see if he leaves or stays.  We have a few candidates for next year.  Amazing.

Nice plays down the stretch, although not without a little extra contact, as per Craft.

But there were a number of games where the new emphasis and a few untimely Craft fouls deepened a Buckeye funk.

All this better than that nonsense, it's just nonsense.

Craft was a great defensive player the last three years. I watched a good eight or nine Buckeye games this year, and Craft was really hurt by the new way the game is being called. That's my reasoned and evidence-based analysis. If you disagree, fine.

Has a huge disadvantage with 3 coaches that hate Michigan in Izzo, Crean and Matta. These are the same coaches that didn't vote Beilein coach of the year when he won the conference with a 2 star 6'4 power forward.

Werd.

Like I said above, I think for each of those three guys it's pretty uncomfortable what Coach B and Co. are getting done in Ann Arbor.

Stauskas won player of the year and Beilein split coach of the year with Miles orrrr did they not announce it yet?

EDIT: the time on the comments in this thread had me really confused.
