B10 Helmets
Look at this site the guy decided that with all the talk of adding another team to the conference why not renovate some of the old. He decides to change the team helmets some are cool and some are awful.

I like Illinois'. Beyond that, none of them really look that great. Almost threw up when I saw Michigan's, haha.

but I think it's sweet, and a huge improvement over the current one. It must have been hard for him to not use the msu helmet as a joke opportunity.

I like Illinois, Indiana, Penn St. And Michigan's helmet is a little risky trying to change at all, but I could see them useing that helmet made once, against the suck eyes.

and a couple others are OK, but many just seem a bit rushed.
And what the hell is up with his cartoon fascination. . . this is a man's game.
If I were a Minnesota fan I'd be administering a first class dong punch.

Illinois - a definite improvement.
Northwestern - bad. Looks like a middle-school design.
Wisconsin - kind of interesting, actually. I don't care for the shade of red, though.
MSU - so awful, I could almost see them using it.
Minnesota - Funny, but it might not be the look you want as a football team
Purdue - nice. More distinctive than their current one.
Indiana - okay, nothing special.
Iowa - I like their current black better.
PSU - this might be good. I think I might prefer a white helmet with the numbers, though.
OSU - actually not that bad. I'd drop the stickers, though.
Michigan - no comment.

Illinois and Purdue were good. The rest didn't need to be changed. Michigan has the best helmets ever. Penn State and Ohio State have notable ones too.
On a related note I really like Minnesota's current helmet. Probably my second favorite behind ours.

I agree with most of you that Illinois is a huge improvement while the rest mostly suck. Seeing the MSU white helmet made me think of just a white version of the current spartan logo helmet. Since they really don't have any respect for tradition anyways, why not consider this even as a alternate helmet to go with the all white uni's?

This reminded of a website I came across in the past that is essentially a history of football helmet designs for pro, college, arena, XFL, etc. He also has a section for his own proposed designs under "Made Up Stuff". Arizona State is by far my favorite, but he has an Illini version with the indian head on an orange helmet rather than blue.

very interesting to see all the different designs teams have used over the years. Teams like Michigan, Penn State and Ohio State have had little to no change over the years were MSU has had dozens of designs over the years.

Illini helmet is pretty awesome indeed.
I can see State going to that helmet design just to further stake claim to being Michigan's school, etc. Ugh. Not that the design is bad at all.

The Golden Goofers helmet is funny. Not something that should ever be on a helmet for real though, if you want to be taken seriously. Of course, it's Minnesota, so maybe they will go for it given that they usually aren't taken seriously.
As for the others, I liked Illinois and Wisconsin. The rest range from meh to awful. Mostly awful.
And, don't mess with the winged helmet, you were right when you said that it's a work of art. Would you switch the colors on a work of art....no.

I loved the illini's helmet they should really consider doing that, and nothing would make me happier then if Minn went to that cartoon network helmet.

I wish Illinois would just use the Block I that has become their primary logo instead of spelling out the whole damn state. And, yeah, that blue helmet is a lot less garish than those orange monstrosities.
