B+ Recruiting Class Per Espn
Espn does a decent job here and gives us credit for a pretty decent class. Espn is very high on Dorsey as we all know and they say that we met most of our needs. Overall the article is pretty good.

I guess they didn't ask Herbie for his input on this one.

DD's running a 4.3 forty might swell up to EE

I didn't pay any attention to him until recently because I didn't think we'd actually get him. I just watched a couple of highlight videos. I remember from UA AA game and that dude is a clown! It's great seeing kids have fun. He seems (I would underscore "seems") to be able to turn the switch on right before a play. It's so important to have a guy that keeps his teammates loose. Ann Arbor is officially a No Fly Zone! I can't wait for this season.

Nothing wrong with a pair of Double D's.

I am quite happy that ESPN gave the class a B+. I was expecting a B to B- from people who don't understand what RR is doing at UM.

If he keeps this up and he does good on his GRE he can get into State for grad school.

Considering they rank the class the worst of any of the major recruiting services. Lemming or Scout saying B+...? Sure. ESPN, you must have to be lower than 100 to fail on that curve.
Or more likely the head doesn't know what the tail is doing.

Actually Rivals has us ranked at 20 Espn at 14 and Scout at 12

But not according to the Detroit News right now-

Can I have my 15 minutes back. Read the grades last night. It should be graded on a curve whereas they just list the classes from best to worst and fill in the grades. That's stupid. If you are a winning school and you live in a region with a ton of talent you should be held to a much higher standard. Schools with built in disadvantages like Washington, Oregan, Tenn (the coaching change), Boston College, Stanford should be rated much higher and teams that underperformed relative to their tradition and region like OSU, Pittsburg, GTech, Miami, Georgia for example should be rated much lower. Otherwise why even give out grades? Just list the top 50 or 60 recruiting classes and be done with it. CFB coverage is really quite pathetic on ESPN's website.

A couple funny and semi-related points. After reading that article I perused the other Big Ten blogs. First there was a post titled "PSU, Iowa, MSU sign classes." Which like, duh.
Second was the Ohio State recruiting analysis. Jim Tressel said they "probably would have liked three or four [offensive lineman], but we could afford two within our budget."

his first words this morning "what happened with Michigan? Herbie said you guys didn't do well recruiting." After I asked him "where did Herbie go to college?" he started laughing and stated "Herbie is an ass." I never heard what Herbie had to say but imagined it wasn't good. I love this class of recruits and for Herbie to be acting out, I take this as a good sign.

that Michigan's recruiting class was a total bust. Kind of interesting that ESPN gives us a B+. So, I guess that anything less than an A is a total bust. Herbie is fast becoming ESPN's Drew Sharp.
