Awesome Stuff...

Hello Friends,

Without understatement, I will say it was a somewhat difficult weekend for all of us who support the program. But, what is done is done and it's time to move ahead to Iowa. On Saturday, after the unfortunate result against the 'little brother' I found myself having a few beers and looking at another blog I enjoy called 1000 Awesome Things. Check it out, it's pretty cool 1000awesomethings.com

Anyway, I got to running the same premise for Michigan Football through my mind and I was digging the concept. So here are a few examples I came up with...

  • Walking into the stadium - Every single time you walk in and the light hits you as you exit the tunnel. Awesome.
  • Denard  in the RichRod offense - It's like any play could work out and something great could happen. Awesome.
  • Capital One Bowl v. Florida 2008. Lloyd. Spread freaking offense. Redemption. St. Tim Tebow destruction. jamar. Awesome.

I could go on but I feel great about the upcoming weekend already...feel free to weigh in.

1.  That first play was crazy on at least two levels.  First, his spin move was sick.  Second, the opposing team had some of the worst tackling on that play I've ever seen - I think all 11 on defense missed him.

2.  Hart is very fast.  He's not made of dilithium (obviously) but maybe berryllium?

3.  Does Hart have to be voted in or does he become an instant member of the All-Dreads team?

The Braylon Show.

I was having dinner at a restaurant with my girlfriend (now wife)'s parents for the first time and excused myself to use the restroom.  My future father-in-law found me at the bar an hour later watching the second overtime.  He just nodded his head in understanding as Braylon tore out little brother's heart.

Driving to Ann Arbor for a big game and seeing another Michigan fan in another car, and knowing that they're as pumped as you are, and you don't even know them. Awesome.

Catching that first glimpse of the ginormous M on the Michigan Stadium sign as you head into Ann Arbor on I94. Awesome.

BAND, TAKE THE FIELD! Awesome.

Bullwinkle. Awesome.

Watching Denard run 80 yards to score the winning TD. I'm assuming this will be AWESOME. I intend to find out this weekend.

Walking into Michigan Stadium on Saturday, November 22, 2003 for the first time.  Awesome.

I didn't have a ticket- I watched the game on a TV in some guys van.  Awesome.

With only 3 mins. left in the game, they opened the gates and I got to rush the field.  Awesome.

My first move was to run down to the south east corner of the field and take a picture of myself with tOSU marching band in the background- many of them were in tears.  Awesome.

Michigan wins 35-21.  Awesome.

Laid on the block M at midfield while sad sack OSU players walked by.  Awesome.

I wasn't around him much, but the little I was, it made me proud that he was my coach. I would see him in West Quad checking on the players studying. For some reason I was near him in Crisler one night very late in the 1979 season ( a year in which we lost three games because we could neither kick field goals nor punt). This little kid came up to him to ask for an autograph. He said something like, "Young man, can you kick?" Cracked us up.

Sacks PSU QB on the first play, 1997 at Penn State as Michigan rolls to one of the most decisive victories vs. a top team I've EVER seen.

Losing my voice on Thursday nights at Yost (Goal Counts, etc).  Gaining it back the next morning only to lose it on Friday night at Cliff Keen.  Gaining it back the next morning only to lose it during the march to the stadium, along with subsequent screaming during each game.  Then not gaining it back until about Tuesday or Wednesday.

Love the post and all the responses but the most memorable thing for me is when Brock led the team out against uconn and the way the crowd went crazy when he touched the banner. That brought tears to my eyes. The flyovers are pretty sweet too.
