As an Eagles fan it is doubly enjoyable when Michigan men have an impact on the Eagles. This is a link to a Philly.com article about Jason Avant winning this year's Ed Block Courage Award for the Eagles. He is a solid guy who never puts himself first and is willing to do anything for the betterment of the team (most recently demonstrated by the crushing block during Jackson's punt return for a TD against the Giants). His efforts often fly under the radar but he is invaluable with all the little things he does every week.
Avant is Eagles Ed Block Winner
I'd vote for him for president.
a few months ago, with a bit more depth on his attitude, charitable work, etc. Nice to know he's being recognized by his teammates as well. In his rookie season I bought preseason tix to the Jets/Phillies game on Ebay, and sat in the pouring rain in row 2 of the end zone to watch him make a spectacular catch right there in the corner. He doesn't usually get the attention, but he's always working hard. Off the field, as well. Congrats to him.

I feel this way even at Michigan. I'll admit, I've only been a die-hard since 2002, but there has not been a more sure-handed receiver I've seen in Maize and blue in that time frame.
Could you imagine if Roy Roundtree had Jason Avant's hands...?
Ed Block Award. What an appropriate name for the award.
...and is only quiet about it.
I know those names and words but that title makes no sense
Congrats Jason!!! Miss having a receiver we can rely on 100% of the time.
