Austin Hatch Interview Also on NBC Nightly News Tonight

I suspect that there will be more footage than the interview that was on the Today Show this morning.

What a great kid!

I need a box of tissues...I just watched the Today show interview..What a incredible young man. What a inspiration. I am buying my 3 young boys Michigan jerseys with his number on them. I cant think of anyone else better to be a role model. I am SO glad hes at Michigan. What a great representative and truly a MICHIGAN man...go get'em Austin!

but the fans just really loved him from day one and took them in as their own, after his horrific family circumstances. I fully hope and expect that we blow Austin away with our support.

I think John Beilein deserves continued praise for not only the class and character he has, but for the character of the players he is bringing in to represent our beloved university!

Thirty years ago, the man who would become the greatest 3-point shooter in NBA history — who likely will become the next coach of the Knicks — was a no-name freshman at the University of Arizona, asleep in the Babcock dormitory when a call came from a family friend around 3 a.m. Steve’s father, Dr. Malcolm Kerr — president of American University of Beirut — had been assassinated while walking out of an elevator, shot in the back of the head. Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the anti-American act, though later evidence suggested it was committed by a pair of Hezbollah gunmen, following Iranian orders.

The part about the ASU fans taunting Kerr is despicable. Shame on them! If I ever hear a fellow Michigan fan/student do something like that, I will remember reading this article, and take appropriate action. I would encourage everyone else to do the same.

God help any B1G fan base that even considers taunting Austin Hatch about his family circumstances.  Cheering against the jersey is one thing, but cheering against the young man doesn't seem possible.
