Auburn to lose running backs coach to NFL?
Just hired a few weeks ago and may be on his way out: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/01/24/cowboys-close-to-hiring…
Would be great timing given Derrick Green's upcoming announcement.

Well that would certainly help to seal things up.

TILL GREEN TURNS BLUE

That's terrible news. Absolutely dreadful.
January 24th, 2013 at 12:30 AM ^
...that Green is going to commit to the Cowboys?
January 24th, 2013 at 1:30 AM ^
It means Auburn is officially the SEC's newest smoking crater.
January 24th, 2013 at 10:54 AM ^
don't underestimate the power of the SEC booster.
January 24th, 2013 at 1:11 AM ^
Tears, tears of unfathomable sorrow!
January 24th, 2013 at 1:31 AM ^
I don't think Auburn is the main competition here, i'm fairly certain its a Michigan-Tennessee battle.
January 24th, 2013 at 1:51 AM ^
Thought I just heard yesterday that it was basically between us and Auburn. And it was closer than we think.
January 24th, 2013 at 9:22 AM ^
if it wasn't close, chances are he would have announced it already... the second hand info that I've received is that his mom wants him to play in the south and her vote counts... it's hearsay but don't freak out on Saturday if Green does not commit to Michigan.
January 24th, 2013 at 4:31 AM ^
you sound alot like Magnus here by saying specific recruit X favors Tennessee over widely considered Michigan, but before his decision his public instead of after.
January 24th, 2013 at 9:45 AM ^
Please tell me where I said he favored Tenn over Michigan? I just believe I had read that the Vols are our main competition for his services, I still think he's ours to lose but I never said he favored Tennessee over us.
January 24th, 2013 at 3:50 PM ^
when he cut the orange out of his hair. But maybe that was just one of those recruits-playing-with-us gestures?
January 24th, 2013 at 1:51 AM ^
Fate wants Mr. Green in Ann Arbor, if this doesnt persude him God will start using natural disasters. Don't let it come to that just go Blue
January 24th, 2013 at 3:07 AM ^
Was he going to be the OC and did green say that Bisaccia was big part of his interest? The guy was hired less than three weeks ago. Is that when Auburn started recruiting Green?
January 24th, 2013 at 7:30 AM ^
"Bisaccia has spent the last two seasons as the special teams coordaintor of the San Diego Chargers."
What the hell is a coordaintor?
January 24th, 2013 at 9:57 AM ^
Well, it's not commonly used but an "Ordaintor" is one who ordains. So I guess in order to ordain special teams, Bisaccia needed another ordaintor, or a coordaintor.
January 24th, 2013 at 7:58 AM ^
Now maybe the dude's really good at being a special teams coordinator, but after 10 years you would think he might be promoted beyond that.
January 24th, 2013 at 10:44 AM ^
I might be off in my count but I read somewhere that 4 ST coordinators interviewed for nfl head coaching jobs this offseason. So it's not that much of a step down when you look at it on the nfl level.
January 24th, 2013 at 8:19 AM ^
Uh, anyone think that this gives Auburn an opportunity to hire someone in Green's camp?
January 24th, 2013 at 8:26 AM ^
That's against ncaa rules.... Not that it's stopped anyone before.
January 24th, 2013 at 8:41 AM ^
Due to Mitch Mustain?
January 24th, 2013 at 10:52 AM ^
At first I liked that gif, but then I realized I have no idea if the Rock is even wearing pants. There is just no way to tell....eww gross.
January 24th, 2013 at 9:00 AM ^
and the 3 horse race become 2..
January 24th, 2013 at 9:43 AM ^
Tenn is going to be our main competition anyway. They are going all in on him right now.
January 24th, 2013 at 11:07 AM ^
The general attitude in Knoxville is that while they think ole BJ will recruit well in the future (since he is getting some pretty good talent through here on short notice and they seem to seriously consider the Vols) that it won't happen yet. The one recruit that UT thinks it "needs" in Green, mostly because they are not really in on a whole lot of quality RB recruits. So yeah, they are going all in, but I am not sure they will get it done. We do have some awesome facilities now, so there is that.
January 24th, 2013 at 11:33 AM ^
Ath Dept (not involved with recruiting and not relying on any specific info) said the same. He thinks UM wins as our RB opportunity is probably a better fit and our staff is established.
He thinks UT will get Vonn Bell over OSU and Bama, but I can't envision BJ outrecruting those 2.
January 24th, 2013 at 5:37 PM ^
Green is also aware that he will be running behind one future awesome OL, may be one of the best in the country if he goes Blue!
January 24th, 2013 at 11:23 AM ^
Now that Cam Newton is back at Auburn completing his sociology degree, is it a recruiting violation to have him meet with or entertain recruits (not that the NCAA does a good job enforcing its rules)? Technically, Cam is just another student, so I assume it's not, but I can just imagine AU giving some kid a tour of the weight room and there is ole Cam lifting, or possibly having him involved in other activities during important visits. Perhaps he's truly focused on the books, and wants nothing to do with high school kids, though.
January 24th, 2013 at 11:38 AM ^
It sounds like Auburn might be out, and its a two-horse race between UM and Tennessee. It depends on what will win out between his wanting to play close to home, or playing in an offense designed for his skill set, and just being a few extra hundred miles away.
January 24th, 2013 at 3:24 PM ^
This would be awesome if Jerry could indirectly help Mich land DG considering all the unrest he has caused me as a Cowboys fan wanting a real GM for his (America's) team.
January 24th, 2013 at 4:15 PM ^
This Derrick Green sweepstakes is teetering on so many unknowns. But one comment made earlier in this thread resonates, 'never underestimate thhe power of an SEC booster'. Or a mom either, for that matter.
