Congrats to him!

Current QB coach, or our Rich Rod Era coach?

Under Lloyd.

But Brian said Lloyd has no coaching tree. /s

Quarterbacks coach from 2002-2007.

I highly recommend* using this to create a That's What She Said (TWSS) MGoBot to prowl these boards: https://github.com/DanielRapp/twss.js
*I don't actually highly recommend this

Think about it, and you'll understand the question......

How do I know who Bo Schembechler is when he retired 3 years before I was born?
January 22nd, 2012 at 7:37 PM ^
Beat me to it by a couple seconds. Congrats to him...I think he will be a good OC.

This news is turrible.
January 22nd, 2012 at 7:38 PM ^
And it is so well deserved. I hope that we can somehow see him back in AA as he is a unique talent.
January 22nd, 2012 at 7:41 PM ^
This "kid" is 37. But its great to see him get a chance, hopefully he can be successful and we will see him back in AA in a few years.

Chizik doesn't think Trooper Taylor is ready to call plays? Shocking.

with his informal position as Inappropriate Benefits Coordinator.
January 22nd, 2012 at 7:42 PM ^
Hope he replaces Borges when Gorgeous Al rides off into the sunset. If he's already not a HC somewhere by then.
January 22nd, 2012 at 8:01 PM ^
I would love to see him succeed Al in a few years and have Hoke groom him to take the job when the time is right. Remember that Loeffler was hired as qb's coach over one Jim Harbaugh back in 02 so obviously Lloyd saw some promise there.
January 22nd, 2012 at 8:16 PM ^
a bitter feud with Jimmy.
January 22nd, 2012 at 8:57 PM ^
That was before Harbaugh had stuck his foot in his mouth..again. He was hired back from CMU because one Tom Brady told them they'd be crazy to hire anyone else.
January 22nd, 2012 at 8:50 PM ^
or Tremendous Promise?
January 22nd, 2012 at 9:42 PM ^
I dont like the Auburn hire, because I thought the plan was for Loeffler to replace Borges in four years, and making a lateral move is less likely, I would think.
January 22nd, 2012 at 11:07 PM ^
Well, it's nearly lateral, although most people not from the South would consider Michigan a step up from Auburn, but even so, lateral moves happen all the time when a coach is going back to his alma mater. This happens all the time.

...before he becomes Michigan's head coach in 2023.

I almost had an "incident" involving Scott way back in the day when we were first recruiting him to Michigan. At the time I was recruiting Northern Ohio for Michigan and Scott (who was from Barberton, Ohio) was scheduled to pay his last official up in Ann Arbor but at the last minute his ride backed out. I knew he was coming up and being a season ticket holder I offered to give Scott a ride and he accepted. Somehow Bob Chmiel (our recruiting coordinator) got wind of this and I got a frantic call just as I was about to get Scott telling me under NO cirtcumstances was I to give Scott a ride. By NCAA rules a "booster" (and being a season ticket holder qualified me as a booster) was not allowed to have direct contact with a recruit without it counting as an official, university sponsored visit. And needless to say they didn't want me being the "official" thereby putting us in violation of NCAA rules if somebody from the coaching staff met with him later.
So I didn't give him a ride and managed to not screw things up. Good luck Scott!

That actually was a cool story. Now your posts on the other hand could use some work. Try typing more then a few words for every reply.

If my DROID keyboard wasn't so buggy.. don't judge me
January 22nd, 2012 at 9:30 PM ^
No judging, but I 'll profile you. You don't know who Scott Loeffler is which tells me you are a (barely) post pubescent kid with limited knowledge of the history of the program. You also create bland board posts which contain no information , sometimes more than one per day, suggesting you fill your need for interpersonal communication with strangers rather than actual friends. You also use tired Internet memes (cool story bro) directed at quality posts because you feel the more qualified posters are siphoning your much needed attention. And I bet I could find you at a Dance Dance Revolution near your parents house.
January 22nd, 2012 at 9:48 PM ^
I was being serious. You really have no clue who I am, or my knowledge of Michigan. You really have no clue how much I love Michigan, and how I'd die to play football there but will never get the chance. Maybe I dont know who he was, don't use my age against I'm very intelligent and yeah I do create useless post, but maybe I just want to feel like I'm contributing to the board. Thanks Bud.

Do you by any chance have a full blooded American Bulldog?

English bulldog....

Want him back, don't you?

Just like you said the other day, there hasn't been a good old fashioned melt down in a long time.

Was wondering about that guy and where he had been, what caused him to lose it?
January 23rd, 2012 at 10:12 AM ^
He wasn't able to keep his political views off the blog. IIRC he called ~50% of the country "sheep" and then asked the mods for an IP ban to prove his internet skillz when he got right back on, which never happened.
January 23rd, 2012 at 3:06 PM ^
Haha, good information. Wish I could find that meltdown thread!
January 23rd, 2012 at 3:17 PM ^
Honestly it wasn't all that great (nothing compared to the stories people tell about Big House 500th and McFarlin). The mods deleted his comments and our replies and let the OP get back on track.
I felt bad for the OP though, IIRC he was making his first post on a good topic and it turned into a meltdown.
January 23rd, 2012 at 4:49 PM ^
It was this thread-
http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/ot-1270-am-no-longer-sports-talk-effective-912
With the famous (infamous?) line-
"It is easy to create a new screen name even with ip bans. Even if you ip ban me, I will back within minutes."
January 23rd, 2012 at 5:31 PM ^
I understand why the Mods erase all evidence of meltdowns but at the same time they are damn entertaining reads. Perhaps they could be saved in some form in a meltdown hall of fame, similar to the wall full of fake id's at Campus Corner.....
January 23rd, 2012 at 6:20 PM ^
Yea, I'd love to see em0, BH500th and McFarlin, which were all before my time here.
January 24th, 2012 at 12:54 PM ^
But since you're "trusted users", I think you can handle it....but I wonder if you posted in that thread now, it would appear in the App as the threads you must recently posted in, which would let you bring it up with the App, and the App often has deleted posts still appear in it. You'd need to post in it to bring it to the top of "your posts"....but I bet that'd work.
