Attending my 200th M game Saturday

Submitted by mpharmd98 on
The game Saturday against DSU will be the 200th M football game I've seen in person. Michigan's record in the 199 games I've attended is 158-40-1. Go Blue!

I don't quite have 200 M games but I am just over a 100. This game will be the 85th consecutive home game I have attended. During this streak I have missed 2 family weddings. Their fault for scheduling a wedding on a football saturday!

One of the weddings I missed my wife (fiance at the time) was in the wedding as a brides maid and she knew I wouldn't go so she just told her whole family I had to work. I wasn't going to drive to Escanaba for the weekend and miss a home game.

Michigan is 5-1 in the games I've attended. I can only remember a 24-10 victory over Indiana circa 1982; the Penn State game in 2005, and the OSU game in 2005.

I wish I would have done a better job tracking like you guys. I started going to games as a child in the early 70's...and went to all the home games during my time as a student in the late 80's. I'm dying to know my record...guess I need to do a little research. p.s. Should I count the four games in 1967 when in my pregnant mom who went to all the home games?

21-17 with my first game coming in 2002 when we beat State 49-3. Been to Columbus 3 times. Wisconsin once. Iowa once. Northwestern once. Notre Dame once. MSU once. So that leaves 30 games in the Big House with two more (PSU and OSU) left this year. Hopefully I can get that .553 winning percentage up a little bit huh?

Congrats! Tomorrow will be my 18th. I'm 8-9. I've come of age in a rough spot. First game was Rice in 2000. I've been to Purdue, MSU, and Iowa. Gone to all the games this year, all home last year + Purdue.

I thought I was being anal by just keeping track of how many games I've gone to...you had to go and throw in the record! ;-) So guess what I had to go and do...(actually, it was kinda fun). Saturday will be my 156th game (and I know the feeling, I got kinda excited at 150 last year...of course, then we played it), and 108th straight home game. Overall record (to go up one Saturday) 116-39-1. That's around .744%. 107-26-1 at home, 5-7 on the road, and 4-6 in Bowl games. Actually, considering that's on the road and bowls, that's not as bad as I thought it would be. Includes MSU (2-1), ND (1-2), OSU (0-3) NW (1-1) Purdue (1-0). Don't get on the road as much as I used to, or would like. And with big screen HDs, it's not really worth putting up with the fans as you get older. Bowls- Rose (1-4) Citrus/Cap 1 (2-1) Outback (1-0) Alamo (0-1). Hope to make one this year, but not sure if "I" can make it. They'll be at one. Most games I ever caught in a season was 10 of 12 (Did ten a couple of other times, but that was in 13 game seasons). Best season records 8-0, 5-0-1, 9-1. Worst- 2-5, 5-4, 4-3. And I'm pretty sure I went to some Rose Bowl game as a baby, but I didn't count that... lol

Yech, I'm 19-10. I mean, that's good and I'm sure a lot of fans would love that, but whatever, I want less of those losses. Oh well, I'll be hopefully 20-10 tomorrow (today).
