Articles: Denard / Big Ten vs. SEC Recruiting Changes

Actually says (cough*) that Taylor Martinez might be faster than Shoelace... even though our scientific nintendo-inspired simulation proved this to be a fallacy.

Interesting to see how Big Ten coaches' opinions differ from what the SEC Commish said concerning recruiting changes.

Pat Fitzgerald's opinion on this matter is what everyone should be looking at. Let everybody involved - recruits and coaches - have a life during this process. It's not like there's no other opportunities to be in contact with recruits. Of course, the Zooker takes sides with the SEC.

I think contact should be liberalized, but recruits need a say too. Coaches should register whomever they're recruiting with the NCAA. Contacting a recruit you haven't registered is a secondary violation (most teams could put every recruit's name in the Rivals database down). Players have the option of registering and can opt out of communication with any staff they want. Contacting a recruit who has opted out of communication with you is a major violation. Coaches get to know players, which only makes sense, and players don't get 400+ texts, etc/day. Done.

Grown men texting high school kids for anything other than emergencies will always seem weird to me. Facebook, on the other hand, totally not creepy.

Taylor Martinez can be "faster than Denard" all he wants, but it won't do him a bit of good if, as rumored, Bo Pelini would rather chew a shot glass than play Martinez at QB.

My eight year old figured out how to stop nebraska's spread on ps3. Denard will explode when he needs to explode. Didn't Taylor fall apart at the end of the year last year?

It's not Denards top speed that's so impressive to me. His acceleration is ridiculous, when he decides to run he was 10 yards up field before anyone had realized he ran ( and they where all exspecting him to run the whole time).

I don't remember which game it was last year but it was 3rd and 1 and the QB run got dragged to the outside. Four or five defender where at the line in position to tack Denard , he makes one cut and accelerates and all of a sudden every guy with in range is now way of position and Denard runs up field for a 40-50 yard touchdown

Lol that's the one , every time i see that I feel obligated to put my own Chris Berman "whoop" everytime he runs by someone who had an angle on him 0.5 seconds before.

The first time i saw the play I admit i yelled at my TV for the last time at Denard. Now It's just , you keep doing what you are doing

more often last year than any in recent memory. Denard taking off like it was a one-man race was just flat out funny. He would have 3 steps before the opposing players realized they needed to tackle him. Those 3 steps became 5 yards, even against the faster players. Even watching people who had an angle on him was funny, you just knew they couldn't do it.
