Arnett Apology

Submitted by Steve Lorenz on
I'm sorry that the info I had turned out to be wrong. I have too much respect for the board and its reach to just post junk though. It was a legit source and I seriously would have abstained if I thought otherwise. Regardless, I apologize.

Not sure if serious.  But anyway, its all good, insider dope is sometimes wrong.  I don't think anyone here is holding your feet to the fire on this.

I applaud your honesty, but the guy to my left says your journalistic integrity is shot.

Totally joking man, we appreciate your posts here on the board.

earlier he posted info from a trusted source that Arnett was not welcome at MSU due to the way his recruitment went down last year.  Well, Arnett is now going to Transfer to MSU.  In my humble opinion, Coach Dantonio changed his mind realizing he will need all the talent he can scrounge to compete with Michigan from here on out.

Your source's first mistake, aquaman, was assuming that Dantonio cares about whether he looks like a hypocrite...

No need to apologize. I bet Dantonio went after Arnett after all just to block UM from getting him. Noble thing to do on your part anyways buddy. You did say your buddy was wrong 5% of the time, so this was one of those times.

I don't even know if your information was wrong.  It sounds to me just like how Dantonio would play his hand if he thought he was about to be trumped.  That's all he has left, he has to fold before he's told because the Spartans back-to-back self proclaimed championship type seasons haven't translated to recruiting or national relevance.

Finally! Lol I knew Dantonio would take fucking Bin Laden if he could play. I called bullshit stat.

The crux of your story was that Dantonio did not like Arnett. I never once thought that this meant he wouldn't take him. Dantonio would sign the Satan himself if it was between MSU and UM.

if he is a Sparty insider, does not understand Dantonio or the MSU program. They have to take any elite player who's willing, given so few are. They must also bow to any serviceable player with laughable discipline (this is no reference to Arnett, but the other numerous cases of Sparty lol misconduct). Cunningham could have taken a dump on Dantinio's head 20 minutes before gametime and only sat a few plays in their bowl.

It is the Sparty Way.

No need to apologize - you aren't a journalist so this isn't a fact checking mission.  Instead of throwing out a claim with baseless facts, you asserted your belief based on what you knew of the person providing you the information and their veractiy.  You have a lot of trust on this board specifically given your point total.

I wouldn't sweat it - we won the Sugar Bowl, and undermanned senior class just went out a BCS winner.  Michgian is going to become a team that does amazing things over the next few years (particularly 2014 and 2015)  and Deanthony Arnett was not going to change that.  He is a very good player but honestly he isn't Aaron Burbridge.  That is a kid who can ball and causes a lot more fear in me that we lost (or whatever the circumstances were).

Terminate self flaggellation and commence enjoyment - WE JUST WON THE SUGAR BOWL!!!

You told us where you got the information and let us take it for what it was worth.  Besides, I doubt anyone put down any money on where Arnett was going to land.

That's a pretty classy move.  As to the info, whatever, Herbie, one of the most well regarded CFB analysts had a trusted source who said that Les Miles accepted the M coaching job.  Sometimes trusted sources have info that is correct at the time when shared, but which becomes incorrect based upon a change in circumstances.  And sometimes, trusted sources have info that they THINK is correct, but it is not.

Either way, you reported what you believed to be solid info and qualified it as "take it for what it is worth" so no apology is necessary.

Sweet, now we can add to our venacular...

Aquamanned, to go with BKFinest and Raback.

No biggie.  It's not like you came on here with loads of bravado and doucheyness.  You went with what you believed.  Still doesn't change the fact that Team 132 won the Sugar Bowl and finished 11-2.
