Things I took from the game.

Pipkins is a beast and if he can shed maybe 10 pounds of bad weight and get even stronger he will be an absolute monster. Think a combination of Mike Martin and Alan Branch with the speed of Lamar Woodley.

Kalis is going to be an unbelievable run blocking guard. Think Hutch but bigger, faster, and stronger.

Magnuson needs to redshirt.

Ross will compete for playing time this year. It is going to be very intersting to see the battles between Ross, Bolden, Morgan, and Poole for playing time.

I hope we never have to play DGB.

Every year I think people take too much from all-star game. A mix between Mike Martin, Alan Branch and LaMarr Woodley?!

Wow, is that you Coach Fred Jackson?

Pipkins is a BEAST, you are correct...he made some plays, but he also is going to have to get in shape. He'd make a play and then take a play or two off and look slow and sluggish.

----

Kalis is Steve Hutchinson but bigger, stronger, faster!?! WTF? Hutchinson is the best guard to ever play at Michigan! And one of the best OGs to play in the NFL in the past 10-20 years! Are you kidding?

Kalis too played well, and he'll be a beast. But slow down Freddy J!

----

Magnusson needs to RS? You say that after watching him in ONE all star game playing a new position for the first time?

Ha, however, you're right...only because 95% of freshman offensive linemen need to redshirt. So it has nothing to do with this game. He was playing guard and he's a tackle.

----

Ross is a smart, tough, instintive player, I too think he'll play along with Bolden this year while RJS and Ringer will redshirt. I think Ringer has a shot to play special teams because he's enrolling early, but IMO Ross and Bolden are going to be GREAT at Michigan.

----

DGB is the real deal.

LOL I was obviously doing a little Fred Jackson man. I figured that Magnuson needed to redshirt before I saw him play today, but today confirmed it. He obviously needs a year in a college S & C program. Kalis and Braden are probably the two freshman that are big enough to avoid a redshirt and I'm not really sure how good of shape Braden is in right now.

I know that Cal is getting a lot of help this year in recruiting due to USC's problems, and UCLA stinking worse than usual, but COME ON!  Tosh Lupoi must be a freaking recruiting savant.  Spare me the lecture about Cal's academics, nice campus, the fact he's put a couple DL into the NFL, etc...Cal has been the biggest letdown for so many years running, and is the epitome of mediocrity in the PAC 12.  I'm sorry, I just don't know how they are pulling in so much talent, when Tedford continually has teams that choke in big games.  What else is Cal offering these recruits?...liberal hippies with hairy armpits can only get them so far.

One of the undecided players was heavily leaning towards Michigan, but would not say who. I would think he'd have to be talking Wright, right? However Sam Webb told me Michigan would not be getting anyone else in this game. Guess well soon find out.
