Army All-American Game Liveblog (edit: the Liveblog has ended)

The only problem is that he's doing whatever he wants mostly against a certain Kyle Kalis.
But I am really impressed with his mobility actually. He's running all around and running twist stunts.
January 7th, 2012 at 2:52 PM ^
That may be so but I am feeling good about the both of them due to the interview Kalis gave a few days ago. Supposedly he was destroying Tommy Schutt in the drills. If Pipkins is handling him today, I can imagine that Pipkins must be the real deal.
January 7th, 2012 at 2:06 PM ^
Pipkins smash!!
January 7th, 2012 at 2:15 PM ^
Pipkns buried the qb on the sideline!
Edit: damn ipad autocorrect
January 7th, 2012 at 2:16 PM ^
Especially running the football. DEs are going to get leverage on him fairly easily and you can only get someone that tall so low to make up for it. Also, Washington is going to be a pain to go up against. Kid is good.
January 7th, 2012 at 2:16 PM ^
hope u go blue. i know a junior but shane seems to get the ball out more quickly and accurate than these qbs. why arent they allowed to blitz?
January 7th, 2012 at 2:17 PM ^
Banner looks slow and is getting dominated! Whew, just one game, but still he looks like the Marshmallow Man.
January 7th, 2012 at 2:19 PM ^
do we have a shot they seem to target him alot so far
January 7th, 2012 at 2:20 PM ^
Green-Beckham...holy crap
January 7th, 2012 at 2:25 PM ^
That kind of looked like a push-off, but he looks very good regardless.
January 7th, 2012 at 2:20 PM ^
LTT, come to Michigan! Great school. Great football. Great tradition. And a ton of very, very successful alum. Go Blue!
January 7th, 2012 at 2:21 PM ^
He's impressive but that was a blatant push-off and I can't stand that the announcers didn't even mention it.
January 7th, 2012 at 2:35 PM ^
These announcers are bad, they blamed the qb for DGB dropping that touchdown because they thought he should have thrown the fade.
January 7th, 2012 at 2:26 PM ^
lol NBC put "Vanderbuilt" on the TV for that kid's top 3 list
January 7th, 2012 at 2:27 PM ^
Logan TT is on the Tremendous live blog ppl ... not this one
January 7th, 2012 at 2:31 PM ^
No freaking way. Awesome!
January 7th, 2012 at 2:46 PM ^
Just once I want to hear someone say "I've decided to take my talents to the rock, Slippery Rock University".
January 7th, 2012 at 3:10 PM ^
I'm on my phone and checking a liveblog is tricky. anything of interest from the tremendous questioning?

Geez, DGB is really doing his best Braylon impresson in this game...
January 7th, 2012 at 3:12 PM ^
Or do Michigan recruits normally not do the "watch me choose my hat" thing...
Something about that that just bothers me lol
January 7th, 2012 at 3:16 PM ^
Why? They're 18 year old kids, let them enjoy their moment
January 7th, 2012 at 3:23 PM ^
BWC did it and milked it.
January 7th, 2012 at 3:47 PM ^
But so far, what has he done for us? Not to much.
January 7th, 2012 at 3:24 PM ^
That it bothers him that Michigan recruits don't don't because it's fun for us fans to watch
January 7th, 2012 at 3:36 PM ^
If that's the case then I apologize, still seems a little silly to get upset over something like that
January 7th, 2012 at 3:40 PM ^
The 18 year old kid meme is getting old... they are grown ass men with tobacco purchasing rights... I mean granted we didn't make all the best decisions at 18... but at 18 you can have the class/humility to skip the "look at me moves" and humbly take your scholly.
January 7th, 2012 at 4:57 PM ^
you could choose not to pay attention to the 18 year olds that piss you off so much. We (the fans) are the ones following their every move. We are the ones judging there life choices. It's their day and if they want to have fun, let them. People like you should just chose to not follow recruiting if you can't handle them pulling the hat gag
January 7th, 2012 at 3:28 PM ^
Who was the player that got hurt on the Barry Sanders run?
January 7th, 2012 at 3:28 PM ^
California is doing a number with this recruiting class!
January 7th, 2012 at 4:35 PM ^
I think Cal is the school that benefitted the most when Pete Carroll went to the pros. UCLA has whiffed so far.
January 7th, 2012 at 3:31 PM ^
I just turned the game on now. Is there any place to find a list of who committed where? Any committs relevant to us?
January 7th, 2012 at 3:31 PM ^
Shaq Thompson is an absolute monster; Magnus is great; banner is huge!!!; diggs as fast as hell; and miles or w/e his name is will be one hell of a qb!!
January 7th, 2012 at 3:32 PM ^
Not mean magus mybad lmao
January 7th, 2012 at 3:34 PM ^
Man, Schutt's body build just looks terrible
January 7th, 2012 at 3:40 PM ^
Kalis pancaked Schutt in 1 on 1's this week in practice. Sam Webb confirmed it by asking Schutt himself who admitted it laughingly.
January 7th, 2012 at 3:36 PM ^
Cal better do sonething with all this talent there pulling in, but for some reason I don't expect them to turn into a national contender. Well, maybe they can win a pac 12 title if they can get past Oregon, Stanford, or USC.

Some names I'm VERY impressed with, just already have a college level game.
Stephon Diggs - Kid looks like a mix between Desean Jackson and Percy Harvin
Shaq Thompson - This guy can flat out play...they mentioned Sean Taylor, if he can cover, I'd go there, but he's definitely a Taylor Mays.
Ondre Pipkins - The big boy can move...when he reshapes his body and gets in a real S&C program is going to be ugly
Dorial Green-Beckham - NFL WR right now.
Kent Taylor - Very fluid, seems like the perfect all around TE.
TJ Yeldon - Very shifty, good speed, extremely athletic with nice vision as well. Haven't seen what he can do between the tackles, but he definitely seems like the real deal. Reminds me of a taller CJ Spiller.
Kyle Kalis - He's going to be a BEAST at OG at Michigan, just his technique is off the charts
Barry Sanders - Smart, excellent vision, very solid RB. Impressed with his humility in talking about his father over and over too.
Gunner Kiel - Definitely the top QB in the country. Has great command of the game and solid accuracy. LSU got a gift, for sure.
Cyler Miles - I think this kid is going to be a great addition to Washington. Very good tools and presence.
Devin Fuller reminds me of Antonio Bass or Russell Shepard, an "athlete" is exactly what he should be listed as...very good speed and elusivness, decent hands. He's going to be an interesting matchup in college.

Cal is really cleaning up....I am sure $$$$$$ has nothing to do with it...
January 7th, 2012 at 4:38 PM ^
It's the free pot...via second hand smoke.
January 7th, 2012 at 3:41 PM ^
Pipkins back in the ballgame.
January 7th, 2012 at 3:44 PM ^
Did Pipkins just chase down Stefon Diggs and knock the ball lose? Sure he had to hurdle someone and that slowed him down, but still...
January 7th, 2012 at 3:44 PM ^
Teaming up to take down Diggs. Pip with the ripdown.
January 7th, 2012 at 3:44 PM ^
That big boy can move! Impressive pursuit to tackle Diggs on the sideline a minute ago there.
January 7th, 2012 at 3:45 PM ^
Just an observation, Magnusson looks uncomfortable at guard...he's having trouble engaging/punching and making contact. He does look good when he's pulling though.
I think he's a definite offensive tackle, to me that's ideal when looking at his frame. He almost looks like and oversized, less athletic TE right now. I think he has the makings and the build to be a PHENOMINAL OT.
I'd put him at LT for 4-5 years, Braden at RT for 4-5 years, Kalis at OG, Stacey at OG/C. Bars is the interesting one, I'm not sure if he's a OT or OG.
January 7th, 2012 at 5:02 PM ^
Seen multiple people here and in other locations projecting Bars at Center.
January 7th, 2012 at 5:59 PM ^
I thought Caleb Stacey was targeted for center. He moved his senior year just for the extra preparation
