Everything about this bowl kind of sucks: two mediocre/bad teams, bad uniforms (for Air Force anyway), not a great location, and call me sexist but I can not stand listening to the fairer sex calling play-by-play of a football game.

I believe Delany proposed "home" games to the higher seed in the new playoff format in the sense that the highest local bidder would get it. So, IIRC, if Michigan happened to be a 2 seed and played a 3 or 4 the game would be played as close to AA as possible going to the best venue/bid ratio. At one point I think he outright proposed the higher seed play at home. This is all I really want in a CFB postseason, be it a BCS/Bowl system or playoff/Bowl system. It really just comes down to fairness for me as all the majors are either in the weather of a "cold weather school" opponent or in their area and indoors, still essentially making it a home game. Sometimes both when you have a team like UCLA make the Rose Bowl. I've always argued that no playoff is even needed if you just did away with pre-season polls. Don't reward teams for past efforts and assumption. Wait until a determined week or amount of games played by all and then vote/rank. This keeps a trash team like USC from still hanging around the top 10 with 2 losses by week 6, etc. Then, keep the old bowls all you want but have the title game played in home stadium of the top team. If a Bama is #1, you play in the decent weather of the south. If a Michigan, nd, osu, etc is #1 you actually force a warm weather school to play a game of meaning in cold weather for the first time in history. It only seems fair to me but that's my rant. Just have a love/hate thing with the Rose Bowl. UCLA and usc can ride bikes to the game and any B10 school has a cross country trip and timezone issue to deal with before the ball is snapped.

It seemed unusual when I first heard Beth Mowins do a game, but she actually is well prepared and seems to do all of the pregame interviews that give her items to fill in as the broadcast progresses.

I would rather hear her on a broadcast than someone like Matt Millen, who I KNOW is a idiot.

A better example of a good, well informed female announcer would have been Doris Burke.  She is tremendous.

Beth Mowins on the other hand is horrible.  Absolutely dreadful.  I actually tuned into this game at 11:45 and then immediately switched the channel because I heard Mowins doing the intro.  I have no more interest in watching the game.  She is that bad.

Also, two former opponents in bball are going at it, with WMU currently giving NC State all it can handle in Raleigh. The Wolfpack D, as we saw in A2, sucks.

I don't mean to thread jack, but if this game isn't cutting it for you, tune into the Duke-Santa Clara game. Santa Clara is hanging tough with Duke and is only down by 2 at the half.

I doubt Duke loses this game at home, but if Santa Clara somehow pulls through, Michigan should vault up to #1. Hey, we can dream can't we?

So, in summary a nice 48-yard run where the defense momentarily forgot about the tight end, pass incomplete, pass incomplete and then a short rush for six. Result: field goal. Why could that drive describe anyone of dozens in the games played to date this bowl season?

but it still doesn't inspire confidence in me to know that AF put up 422 yards and 25 points on us in our own stadium, when all they could manage against a 6-6 Rice team was 214 total yards and 14 points.
