Couple of interesting things, the kid is a tremendous player I have seen all the Western PA kids he may be the best, better than Pryor, Baldwin, Breaston, and even Revis.

Urban Myer recruiting energy is confirmed, he has visited Foster's High School twice.  Robert has a couple of brothers whose first names start with the letter D, his momma has called him DRob since childhood.  A Drob second coming in the works???

I'm really glad the NCAA sent a message to OSU.  Nice to see them really feeling the effects of their decade of cheating lol.  Also, any guesses on who OSU is gonna kick off the team?  They are now officially over their scholarship limit.

You can always tell when something important happened because the site suddently goes all 503 on us.

EDIT:  Flamebait!?  Really!?  Man.  I'm wondering... who exactly am I 'baiting?'  And how was this a 'flame?'

Seeing this OSU surge really blows but we need to get over it (especially since they remain in the mix for a couple more 4-5* kids).

We still have that is nationally ranked in the Top 5 (for now) and should still finish in the Top 10.

We are 2nd in the Big Ten - nobody else is even close (how do you think MSU, Wiscy, Nebraska and PSU are feeling at this point)!?

We lost two 50/50 coin flips but both were tilted in favor of the other guys.  Hopefully we can still add some combination of Grant, Diamond, Kozan, Henry, Muller or TBD to this class but even if we don't - it's a tremendous class filled with keepers.    That being said, I'm a little sad that NSD is coming up and we don't have much to root for at this point (other than keeping the kids who have already committed).  On to the Class of 2013...

Meyer had a perfect storm of PSU imploding and Michigan blowing its wad early but the bowl ban, lost scholarships and extended probation has to impact them eventually (doesn't it)?  If not that, then our re-claiming of the rivalry on the field...

SI is already digging into their oversigning, so relax. Urban is not well liked by the boys there. Even the ohio fans are freaking out, must are saying cool for now. Lol..... They will never learn.

Best of luck......getting tattoos and driving different cars every month! Seriously, who cares, all this recruiting shit is just blown out of proportion because companies have found out they charge people to get inside information. It comes down to a combination of coaching, talent identifcation, recruiting, academics, etc.  I am confident in what we are building here, regardless of missing out on a few kids.

I think alot of these guys are committing to tsiO, because of Meyers "past" accomplishments. I still don't think ohio is getting the same coach UF had.  I'm not saying he won't be successful, I'm saying if ohio is expecting 2 MNCs in 3 years, there is going to be some serious couch burning going down in Cbus

The only burning of Meyer will exist if he doesnt beat Hoke. He can go 10-3 every year but as long as he beats Michigan routinely, then he'll have a long tenure.

HOWEVA... if he loses to Hoke in year 1? Then what you say has a good possibility to happen, provided that Hoke routinely beats Meyer.

It is kind of suprising how kids will so willingly throw away a quarter of their postseason opportunities.

Yeah This really hurts... Whatever, best of luck to him. I feel he played us a bit, but I'm not gonna lower myself to ohio standards and wish him death. We really need to find a way to land Diamond.

People need to realize recruiting isnt everything...Many schools (ND) have consistently pulled in great recruiting classes yet they consistently suck year after year....Im completely confident in Hoke and Co. and even if we dont get anyone else on signing day (unlikely), we will still have a top 10 class. And the way are 2013 class could look....Michigan is back.

You've made a similar comment multiple times in this thread already.  I usually stay out of these threads because no one wants to see an OSU fan right now - but this topic of scholarship numbers for OSU has been discussed ad nauseam.  OSU will easily, easily,  meet the 82 scholarship number - and would be able to do so if 4 more players committed.  There will be no "cutting" or SEC-tactics.  Okay, now that I've vented, I'll go back to lurking. Cheers.

Why is everyone freaking out? He picked two other Big Ten schools over us. He obviously was looking for almost any reason not to pick Michigan.

I'm really disappointed that Reeves went to Ohio, but not shocked.  Same thing with Garnett.  The writing had been on the wall for a while, especially running up to their comittment.

The Flying Hokesters are doing just fine.  We've got a stacked class, a solid start to next year, and there may be a few extra kids that pop up on NSD.  And maybe some of those will be underrated (which means Meyer won't even look at them) and they could turn into some awesome player down the road.  I hear we've had a few of those sleeper 3* kids do awesome things.

It's cool.  I'd love to see more recruits, but for those that choose another school ... yeah, you stink and I hope you stub a toe or something.  But I'll probably not even remember their names in a month... much more worried about how Michigan does in 2012.

Your not surprised?! Well why didn't you share in your wisdom then the last couple weeks and set the rest of us straight since the rest of this board, and recruting world for that matter, have been fairly confident in Reeves since our in-home visits and thought Garnett was pretty good shot too?!

We lost this kid twice! Double kick in the balls...What sucks worse is he wasn't even interested in ohio the first time around and chosen psu over Mich...now we fall in 2nd again!

I'm buckling up alright, but its not for any recruits to committ to us anytime soon, its the f'ckn recruitin storm down in C-Bus that's tearing through anything in its way right now!

I hate osu as much as anybody on this board, and I'm not ignorant to our recruiting class this year, but mark my words if Urbs doesn't f'ck this up, he's got a National Championship roster coming in and I would be surprised if it takes him more than two 2-3 yrs to win one.

Damn...

As long as Ohio Alabama and others offer these kids things Michigan doesn't, we're going to lose out on the elite impact players around the country.

As time passes we are going to see Bama, Ohio, LSU, USC and maybe a couple of others pull farther ahead of us as programs.  Getting a great bunch of 4-stars and maybe one or two 5-stars isn't going to cut it in the future of college football.  The NCAA isn't going to pun ish the schools that line the pockets of the advertisers and the bowl people.  If we don't start getting the Garnett's Reeves, Diamonds, Diggs and others we will become a second tier program.  In the media's eyes, I think we already are.  When ESPN or CBS or any of the "experts" talk about the elite programs in college football, Michigan is rarely if ever mentioned.  Ohio State is the ONLY B1G program mentioned with the LSU's and Alabamas and others.

We can't compete with them if we don't fight for recruits the way they do.  The pious "we do things the right way" sounds great, but on the field and scoreboard we are going to come up short.  We don't have the athletes and particularly the speed to compete with the elite teams in college football.  Reeves was probaly the most important recruit we had left on the board.  We have now lost out on two of the most important one we wanted.  Diamond is next and I have little faith he will go blue.  I thing we'll only sign 25 max and probably won't have a top-10 class.  The best players want to play for nat'l championships and I think hs kids see Ohio being the best chance in the midwest.  That and Ohio, like Bama and LSU offer the kids things Michigan won't offer.

ND and Michigan are both suffering from the same problem, tougher academics and standing on principles that mattered when Bo was here.   Schools that want to win don't cvare about reputations.  They care about winning.   We can't get the players that Saban, Miles, and Meyer are getting because they give kids things Michigan won't.   Do I have any real proof?  No.  Except look at the results, the top DBs, RBs and WRs and QBs are going elsewhere and the top lineman are too.  It's gonna be tough to compete on an uneven field.   I hate to say it, but the Alabama game looks really scary right now and I think everyone is grossly underestimating how good Ohio will be next year.

All these kids that are acting like they want to go to Michigan and they all go elsewhere is really frustrating.   I have faith in the coaches and the players that are here, but Michigan is not playing the same game Bama,Ohio, LSU and USC are.

Damn, man. Relax. We have plenty of kids with offers from those schools, and your panic seems based on the decisions of just two kids - Garnett and Reeves - who came very close to choosing Michigan anyway. If elite kids don't consider Michigan, worry. Otherwise, we'll win some and lose some, walk away with great classes, and have more than enough talent to compete with anyone.
<br>Plus, if the Hoke model is to fill up a class early with elite talent and then focus like crazy on the games during the season (at the expense of missing out on a couple of kids later on), that seems pretty reasonable to me.

What sucks is when Garnett said he wanted to stress academics, he really meant it.  When Reeves said he wanted to stress academics, he did really not mean it.

When Garnett said he wanted to play with Magnuson and Pipkins, he really did not mean it.  When Reeves said it was not important to follow Williams to OSU, he did not mean it.

In every case, it worked against us.  How come none of these things go our way?

I'm waitng for the NSD surprise where some 5* from the south that has proclaimed loudly that he would never play in the north and hates the Michigan helmets and fight song . . . picks us.
