Are any of the online betting sites actually taking bets on week one games?
I've been using sportsbook.com for a few years and they don't have any first week lines. I've read about the line for the Bama game but does anyone know a site that is actually taking action on first week games?
I use betdsi and they usually post the lines about a week in advance. Not sure on week one. I'll check in six weeks.
5dimes has had it up for a long time. At one point it was Mich +14.5 (-120). Wish I jumped on that. I think it's around 11 or 11.5 now.
5Dimes has about ten or so Week One lines up and they've been up for several weeks.
I blogged about them back in early May which seems like a lifetime ago. Damn you interminable offseason.
MICH was +10.5 vs Bama this morning
I'm not one to go about betting on games, but if I did, would using an online betting site be legal outside of Vegas/Reno/Atlantic City etc.?
There is actually no federal law that states it's illegal to bet on sports online in the U.S. with a betting company that is offshore. So to answer your question, as long as you're not betting with a company based in the U.S., you're good to go.
Isn't it about the way the money changes hands? I'm clueless (but curious) about this stuff, so I definitely could be wrong.
But I bet a Michigan State friend for the opener against Bama. $100 on Michigan getting 13.
And $50 on the Michigan - Michigan State, straight up. I'm feeling pretty good about them both.
