Approximately 208 days and 13 hours until we have football again.

Submitted by strafe on
Assuming around a noon start time, we have 208 days and 13 hours until the University of Michigan Fightin' Wolverines take the field against the University of Connecticut Fightin' Huskies. Gentlemen, what do we do in the meantime? Without meaningful football in the interim, how will the Adonises of MGoBlog spend their springs and summers? I, for one, plan on actually doing well in school and reconnecting with my father. And, of course, yell at my friends about how good Demar Dorsey is, and how Rich Rod is still an offensive mastermind, regardless of what happens.

To pass the time, I plan on actually engaging in my schoolwork. Also, I intend to work on my development of relationships with actual people, not images on a television or computer.

I'm going to read about 100,000 threads about topics about whether or not this is RR's last season, Demar's past, will we get Latwan?, and rampant speculation and predictions of the upcoming season even before spring practice starts.

Can't wait for the spring game so we can get all the “who's going to start” threads after. I have a few predictions on this year’s spring game and the subsequent mgoboard apocalypse. 1. All 3 QB's look fantastic and we get 15 ”who's the starting QB now” threads. 2. A QB not named Tate looks pretty decent and we get 15 “who's the starting QB now" threads, with 20 “Is Tate going to transfer now" threads. 3. All 3 QB's look decent to mediocre and we get 50 “the offense might not be so good”, “no the defense is better” argument threads. 4. All 3 QB's look like crap and we get 125 “We are all DOOMED” threads.

Does anyone else go by the philosophy that if it were football season, you would get absolutely no work done on a saturday, so therefore, you don't need to do work on any saturday ever?

I usually find myself going by the philosophy that if it were football season, I would be at the bar getting hammered, so therefore, I should probably partake in some day-drinking. However, it is much easier to get arranged once the whether gets nice and we can take the show outside for bags or beer-pong.

I plan on laughing at the local suckeye fans for having a worse recruiting class.(i live 5 minutes from the horseshoe) Then i intend to obsess about which walk ons we pick up and what the spring game will look like. Then, after the spring game, I'll spend hours avoiding the negative articles the freep puts out.

BTN's Greatest Games. 2000 Orange Bowl, 2003 OSU, and 2005 PSU will help me make it through. Because I'm a masochist, I'll even watch the losses (they love 2000 Northwestern). Anything to maintain my football high.

I plan to read variations of the same post over and over whilst spying on current and future recruits. Also calling anyone willing to talk about the future of the Michigan program and arguing why they are most likely wrong. Good luck

Technically, the football begins a few days before that with the Thursday night openers. We'll see the Lane Kiffin era begin as the Trojans play Hawaii. But among the other games that night, the Big 10 will have some of the spotlight. Ohio State hosts Marshall that night. The Doc Holliday Era starting out in a near impossible position. Upset that will be flogged by the pundits all off season: Middle Tennessee State over Minnesota. The Gophers actually will be in Mufreesboro that Thursday night. The Racers won the NOLA Bowl and have a ton of people back, including everyone on a high powered offense. I dont know if the upset will happen, but I bet we find at least 10 separate mentions of it this offseason when columnists and bloggers point out their early upsets. Set the O/U at 10.5.

I signed up here so I could start planning a trip to A2 to see my first ever Michigan game. Already started looking for tickets and mapping out the 16 hour drive. Now we play the waiting game...

I will have a friend bring encase me in ice for the next 121 days. I will then emerge for three minutes, before being encased in ice for 87 more days. Then I will watch Michigan football.

So I am approximately 10 days away from starting my drive to Ann Arbor.  Since I am unable to start a new thread maybe someone can help me here.  I need to know the best place to eat in Ann Arbor and where I should park for the game.  Also, since it is a 3:30 start time what time are people usually out there tailgating.  This will probably be my only chance to ever catch a game in person so I would like to make it the most memorable experience I can.  Any help is appreciated.
