i find this extremely interesting
An appeal to rationality & perspective
This isn't the species of loss we had in the 7 year streak. In this era, we have a good chance to win this game every year. And we'll get ours. Even a pessimist like myself is confident.
Let's remember who we are. We're not pee-throwing yokels that turn on their own at the drop of a hat. Let sober eyes evaluate the gameplan. Just appreciate all this team has given us and look forward to next year. Countdown begins.

"They're stuck with that quarterback (sophomore Braxton Miller) for the next two or three years, that's fine with me. He throws worse than (Tim) Tebow. - Steve Everitt
I am sober. The second half reminded me of my head coach in high school constantly calling a sweep or option to the short side of the field to out think himself. It left everyone scratching their heads but him.
The Team, The Team, The Team.
Sober as a Mormon on Sunday throughout... Usually my eyes don't leave the TV for the whole game...
But I kept checking Mgoblog through the second half, thinking to myself....
Am I the only one seeing this? is Borges on the take?
The only plausible explanation is the Iowa OC kidnapped Borges at halftime and took over.

Shut the fuck up, there will NEVER be another 10 year war. EVER.
to appeal to rationality and perspective.

Nutball responses on both sides of this argument set aside, one might argue that it is an extremely rational reaction, with a lot of perspective, to question whether the offensive coordinator who has had numerous questionable displays throughout his two years here is the right person for the job.
Questions about whether a coach should be fired and rationality/perspective are not necessarily mutually exclusive.
Absolutely right. And I look forward to reading that debate as it plays out, but not much of it is worth reading in this stage. People seem to just want to bitch at each other instead. I'd like to think this fanbase and/or this blog is/are better than that.
this all sounds fine and rational.
unfortunately, i'm sure urban/osu fans won't think of the new ten-year war record as anything other than 1-0 right now; the year where osu was coached by the water boy probably won't be remembered.
I am not really Coach Schiano. -Coach Schiano on Mgoblog
That fucking Urban went 12-0 in his first year in the B1G. I'm just going to chalk it up to a down B1G year... fuck.
I am sober. This is not just one game Borges has chocked before.
THIS IS MICHIGAN
have deliberated regarding your appeal and it has been unanimously denied. Perhaps seek leave to Patience and Understanding.
It's days like these this should be a members' only blog. Hate to see all this laundry being aired in public.
There's a time and a place for spontaneity.
I will continue to support Michigan football. I will watch every week, cheer enthusiastically, rejoice with wins and feel bummed after a loss. And after the loss, I'll look forward to next week. It's what I am. A Michigan alum, Michigan fan.

"Play hard and with great effort"
Yeah, I'm alright. Ready for next year. We played one half of football today and lost by five in the snake pit. It's on Ohio. See you in 365.
All in for some manball.
I find it comical that many of the same people who are telling everyone to calm down and be rational are the ones who were freaking out a few days ago becuase of Rutgers and Maryland.

... Thinking that we have to wait to make a comment is dumb. Did you wait to think about the 97 MNC and whether the clock was mishandled at the end and hurting WSU?
Blanket comments that we all must wait to post assumes we are all irrational, which is self-evidently stupid.
Second, the most disappointing part of this game is the ONE win in 11 games v. OSU. I am sick of losing this game.
Third, STOP the "OHIO" moniker until we beat OSU in CONSECUTIVE games. Is that dumb? Maybe but give Hoke something to work for...OSU won last 10/11 games. I am SICK of it.

It embarrasses me. That team has owned us the past decade. There was a time when no matter how good they were I always felt like we would win. I don't now. I haven't for awhile. The fans down there expect to win this game every year, and I don't at all. They've dominated us and it sickens me. Losing 10/11 games is unacceptable. Hoke and co. need to right this ship. It seems that they always get up for this game. From the head coach on down. Hoke telling the media that its "fun" is not what I want to hear. I want more intensity from him about this game. The coverage on ESPN showed how important Meyer makes this game... is Hoke doing that?? This one hurt a lot.
reminds me of Carr era second half conservatism. We tried to force ball control when our defense was working and we should have been more aggressive.
Actually first time I heard Carr's name and frankly he deserves being associated with the horrible play calling today.
Again... 10/11 since 2001.
10/11.
Hoke and his "OHIO" moniker can take a hike. I am sick that we have been beated so long.
The Rivalry did NOT change b/c of 1 GAME in 2011.

DeBord or Malone on their worst day weren't this bad.
Don't bring Carr into this. And Carr had the balls to move guys out if they weren't right for the OC position.
Let's hope Hoke can do the same. Not counting on it.
Perspective = Auburn.
Holy pants what a beat down. At least our game didn't look like this.
Thank you very little.
Is that the knock on Al Borges is that he called a terrible second half...
1) Take away a busted coverage on the roundtree 75 yd td,
2) And poor tackling on Denard's 64 yarder,
And that leaves I believe, only 80 yards gained during the first half. Even the second TD was on a drive extended by a roughing the passer penalty, and then again by a muffed punt/roughing kicker penalty. That drive easily could have gone for nothing.
The thing is, man, that Michigan did not light it up in the first half. OSU made a couple bad plays, all of which burned them. Minus the bad plays, Michigan was blown out of there in the first half.
The second half played out exactly like the first, except OSU either made sound adjustments/got less unlucky.
In my opinion, the issue is not that Al called a terrible a second half. On a sustainable basis, the game plan was untenable. That it happened to work in the first half was more a result of getting all of the breaks.
Depending on how irate you are, you then can ask if this was just a bad game plan in general, or an extension of an ineffective/hybrid/young/bad offense?
