In all seriousness...we have a bunch of bowls and good bball. This the open thread for everything? I just got off work...feet hurt and I have 3 beers to drink quickly while they're cold. Get a nice buzz, ease the hurt enough to walk back to the fridge for 3 more.

No way. That UM team that lost to app st was ranked #5. It had higher expectations than this years UM team. To open with that loss showed how far the program declined. The Toledo loss was just one bad team losing to another bad team on a given day.

is Michigan's first and only lost to a MAC school and, despite App State's lower ranking as a D1-A school, was a much better team then D1 Toledo. Michigan went on to win something like seven straight in 2007 and beat a FL team which won national championships before and after the Michigan bowl win. The real decline started post Carr era. Regardless, we have JH now and all is good. Beat FSU.

I'm not even sure most people outside of our biggest rivals even remember we lost to Toledo. Everybody remembers our loss to App State and will forever. Sure they won seven straight after one of the biggest upsets in history and getting smashed by Oregon, but not one of those teams we beat ended the season ranked. And I don't see how Florida winning national titles in the year before and after we beat them is relevent. The year we beat them they were 9-3 and not that great just like us. We should have been playing in the national title or at least a BCS game given our talent.

Well that was a clusterfuck by Toledo. It's a bowl game...you might as well go for,it on 4th and 2. If you don't get it you still have 2 timeouts. Now they have one timeout and theyre fucked barring a miracle.
