You mean the Sports Information Directors poll?

There is no way any coach of any good team has time to fill out a ballot once a week. They haven't watched all these teams and are just BSing the whole thing.

AP poll will always be superior.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I dont care about a Big Ten Championship or the Big Ten Tournament. If we win it, great. It's all about the NCAA Tournament for me. We could finish second and still get a 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. I'll be happy if 1) McGary continues to develop and gets a solid 15 footer by the Tournament. 2) Biefeldt eats more of Horford's minutes and improves on his down low game. 3) Morgan just rests until he feels 100% I don't mind a few losses because Jordan rests, we are really going to need McGary and the other bigs' offense next season with Spike or a new PG coming in. 4) Robinson and Stauskas need their swagger back, I think they'll get it back in the Penn State-Illinois-Penn State part of the schedule and hopefully they topple that freshman wall and play great throughout a deep tourney run.

Nonetheless, a win against state at the breslin center would be epic. I hope JB goes to the 1-3-1, always seems to stifle Appling when he's running the point. GO BLUE

Gonzaga plays in a conference that isn't much better than the MAC.  They have played eight teams from major conferences, and are 6-2 in those games, with losses to Illinois and Butler.  That is decent, and maybe even worthy of the top 25, but they are not the third or even the fifth best team in the country.

Luckily, it all comes out in the wash at the NCAA Tournament.

Seems about right for us. Gonzaga is ridiculous but whatever - just handle our business and get the #1 seed.

I think the trend line is that our young players are hitting the proverbial wall, not that we struggle against good competition.  Don't discount wins over Pitt, NC State, Illinois, OSU and others.  Those are good teams.

I think the main reason we have lost recent games is lack of execution on offense and tired legs (missed lay up instead of dunk).  Both things indicate we are tired and the stretch of games we are nearing the end of here against quality of opponents mentally and physically seems to be viisibly taxing the fellas.

That said, we win at MSU and we get a signature road win.  Hope to rejuvenate with an IU and Big Ten tourney win at the end of the year.  We lose, and we might be heading closer to a 2 or 3 seed.
