Anyone have a good copy of Intimidation (Song played before 3rd downs)?

I'm looking for a mp3 or other music file of intimidation (before 3rd down song) for use in NCAA 11.  Does anyone have one?  If anyone doesn't know what I'm talking about, see below:

I'm not sure if it's been recorded officially yet, since it was debuted two years ago (per RR's request). Any current MMB folk remember if they did this at recording session?

We started playing the piece during my senior season (08). We did not record it that year, and if I'm not mistaken, it was not recorded this past year either. Honestly, we may never see an official recording of this, as it is so short that it's more of a chant and less of a song. If there is an official recording, it will probably be when the next MMB retail CD drops, probably in at least a year or two.

I've been to every home game for over 20 years, and have never heard that before (still might not have...the "GO" was much clearer than the music on the clip). But then, I'm in section 18 now.  Take from that what you will.

Didn't the Blue album come out in '08, and the Maize album last year?  I was hoping it might be an annual thing.  Also, props to Coach Rod for the sick new tradition, along with the singing of Hail to the Victors in front of the student section after a win.

The Blue Album was delayed for years for a number of reasons, one of the major ones being securing the rights for several of the tracks (Zeppelin and Queen were particularly difficult to procure, if I'm remembering correctly).  It's got stuff from 2003 through the 2006 seasons, and came out during the summer of '08.

The Maize Album came out sometime last year, it's '07 and '08 stuff.

I'm not sure if the every-two-year trend can continue.  Honestly, there's not too much of a demand for a new MMB CD that often, there's really only so many times you can repackage the traditional music, as (let's be honest) that's what people are buying it for.  The halftime stuff is essentially filler.

Retailers already have droves of Blue and Maize, not to mention the copies the MMB sells themselves (and have to pay almost full retail price for before they can sell them).  If I was the MMB administration, I'd hold off three or four years.  They're more due for a new DVD release than another CD anyway.

I'll say....  As far as I can tell, they've never released a DVD of the band!  I see official-looking people with video cameras swarming the band and percussion section during all kinds of performances and step-shows -- what's happening to all of this footage??  Where is it going?  I would love to buy a MMB DVD, but it just doesn't look possible which is a shame.

MMBVideo is mostly for archival purposes and the video yearbooks, which are sold only to band members and their families, not to the general public.  There's a yearbook done every year, it's two discs, one which is just a static camera in the press box of all the halftime shows and one pregame, and another that's fully-edited that doesn't have every song but has shots from the field and such edited in.  The licensing makes selling to the general public difficult and cost-prohibitive.

The last time the MMB did an all-out video for the public, as far as I know, was 2001-2.  I'm pretty sure it was only released on VHS.

The footage, AFAIK, is mostly used for season DVDs, showing each of the shows plus some other footage, which the band members can buy in the spring. The edited footage is always really well done. Frankly I always thought these were available to the public, but I guess not. I'm sure they'd be willing to sell you some of the old DVDs if you were to ask. Try the MMB website for contact info.

Am I the only one that is a little annoyed by Intimidation?

I think it is fully successful in keeping the crowd quiet.  When third down came up the crowd would immediately (while the other team is in the huddle) get loud.  Now instead of that we are listening to the band and faintly yelling "oohhh" every couple seconds instead of screaming our heads off.  People give up on it and get loud by the time the ball is about to be snapped, but by then isn't it too late?

Just look at the above clip.  People are more concerned with the band and wiggling their fingers than they are about making noise.

Apperantly I was slow to notice, but the first time I heard it on TV was for the ND game last year.  I thought it was the ND band playing something annoying (like the cheer they do where their fans pump their fists up and down all out of sync) and I ripped on my cousin (ND alum) for their band playing a song with a really whiny ending to it.  Then I heard it for later games and realized it was our band playing it.

Compare it to Temptation, which sounds much cooler.  Like the Roman army just bulldozing some hapless band of barbarians.  Definitely not whiny and desperate sounding like Intimidation is.
