I have been following it online. Looks like it is going to be another great ending to a B10 tourney game.
I'VE HAD JUST ABOUT ENOUGH OF YOU SONNY
...Minny upset. How that elbow doesn't get called I can't understand.
Not actually watching it. That bad? Who got away with one?
...rolling on the ground with Iverson threw one that wasn't called. Iverson got called for a foul instead.
MSU just tied it up at 55. Minny's possession and a time out.
Just turned it on. Tied up. This tourney has been crazy.
I am betting Izzo draws up a great play. Fucking Sparty.
Yes! I jinxed them.
WIll they guard the inbound?
Edit: I know, too soon
Gee, see how difficult it was to catch the ball defended, take the ball the length of the court and get a shot off? One would think that is a no brainer defense to call.
...compared the two plays emphasizing the difference in defensive approach. Arghh.
Man, Izzo is starting to look really old.
I'm really hoping he retires soon; they've had their little "cycle of dominance," it's time for the tide to swing back our way.
Everything is cyclical.
What a huge triple!
I thought unless they grabbed your jersey they weren't allowed to call a foul on state in a critical situation?
...for a 10-0 Minny run.
I'm still upset we lost to Sparty in Crisler. They're not that good. Their poor ballhandling is going to catch up to them in the tourney.
...turnover by Westbrook. Pass the ball or dribble up the floor.
...by Hohfarber to withstand the pressure after the rebound and make the pass to Westbrook who's fouled going to the hoop. Drains them both.
I have always thought that an offensive player getting a defensive player in the air and then jumping into them is a bullshit call.
Amazing how MSU's rep as a "physical team" apparently allows two players to jump over a guy's back at once, without a foul.
I thought the exact same thing. I literally yelled out "over the back" when that happened.
...off the upset. Congrats, Gophers. You may have punched your ticket to the tourney with this win.
Man - if we could've held on. We've destroyed Minney all year - Illinois doesn't seem to play us nearly as well as Wisky and Purdue without Hummel is pretty mediocre. If we could've got by the Bucks, we might have actually won this whole damn thing!
Please don't play that game. I believe even the littlest things can change things in the future and if Michigan wins maybe there is different results in the games that followed.
I think it's pretty likely that if Turner missed that shot then the rest of the games would have ended the same. Because I'm sure some players had Turner and OSU in the back of their minds while shooting a 3 or playing D. Don't have to play the whole, "kill a bug in the past and the internet isn't invented" card.
As much as we underachieved this year, MSU is a far, far cry from preseason #2
I really don't see them making it past the sweet 16.
Minnesota/MSU was a great game to be at, even though there were probably only 200 Minny fans at the most, and several thousand Spartans. Most of the M students that made it down stayed for all the games, so we got into something of a chanting match with the MSU student section across from us and some of their fans.
Interesting note: Purdue chanted "IU sucks" during their game and the MSU/Minn game and all the IU students posters with "5" on them to let Purdue know who has the championships. It was entertaining, at least....
the fall came before the pride.
I found it very enertaining last night to watch them lose. I don't see Michigan State lasting that long in the Tournament to be honest.
At the beginning, I thought this year would be somewhat of a re-building year for the team. The loss of Walton and Suton really hurt and Lucas didn't really step up to become a leader until the end of the year. If Lucas decides to stay, this team will be really deep next year with Gauna, Payne, and Appling coming in.
