Anybody see the Brady Hoke interview from RR?

Awkward? How was it? I don't have CBS College Sports so I didn't see it.

Rich is as classy as he is stubborn. Had he focused on the defense and handled the offensive transition in the way Hoke appears to be, he would still be at Michigan. He lost alot of support when he tried to force his offense on Steven Threatt and ignored the defense. Having Robinson as DC certainly didn't help his cause either.

I wish Rich the best of luck in his next stop and am thankful that he won't have the messy divorce from Michigan that he had from WVU.

Rich asked whether the facilities had helped Brady seal it with some recruits.

Easy, rhetorical question, so good job by Rich.  Then Hoke used the expression "no excuses" and then you could tell he wish he hadn't.

There was a change in Rich Rod's face with that response. He did not look happy at all.

They both handled it with class though.

Very true.  RR seemed light and happy until Hoke said "no excuses".  It didn't seem to be a dig at RR, but instead just a continuation of a theme repeatedly driven home (so far) by Hoke.  But the guy who made a lot of excuses, was clearly uneasy having to hear that statement directly.  I don't think Hoke regretted saying it though.  He repeated it and said (something to the extent of), "we have no excuses and will compete at the highest levels every time we take that field".  Then RR said, "Except when the sun gets in your eye."

[note for the crazies...the last sentence is a joke]

Clemson has landed 4 5-star kids in next year's class.  That school will be loaded when RR gets the job after Dabo gets the axe.  He's just biding his time for a year.

I think if I was someone who had no knowledge of the situation (like, if I'd just awakened from a month-long coma or something), I wouldn't have found the interview awkward at all.

BUT... since that's not the case, I'll say this:  It kinda made me want to cry a little. It's the first time I've seen or heard RR since he was fired, and it reminded me of how we will never, ever know what might have been.  Sigh.

All things considered, it seems like these guys handled themselves with class. All the best to both of them.
